Thank F it’s…oh hang on. I woke up this morning and quietly said to myself, in my head that I’m staying in bed tomorrow. Of course I won’t but the 3:40 alarm will not be going off.

So on my way home yesterday I got fuel for something like $2.26. It was my first visit to this servo called U Go. You have to pay first using your debit card. If you pay too much upfront you get it back in a week or two according to the sign. No going inside, no shop, no interior to visit. Hmmmm. So I put in $100 worth which certainly didn’t fill my tank. Bit weird really.

Edit. Mate just told me that if you input more money than you need that you get the difference back immediately.

    Have a good Thursday.

Pretty sure they just preauth your card for the amount you put in to make sure you’re good for it, but then only charge the amount you owe once the transaction is complete.

Some cards are just crap at dropping preauths quickly.

Oh yeah I have a mate who lives right next to a U Go. And they’re gonna open one pretty soon on a road I drive on pretty regularly. Never been in before.

But I have used a different servo that gave the option to operate in the same way before. IIRC it wasn’t that you “pay” upfront, you preauthorise it. Basically, they put a hold on that amount of money in your account, but it’s technically still in your account. Aside from niche things like interest calculations I’m not sure what the practical difference is.

    Goteem

I don’t want to kill this, I have no cruelty left. I am cruelty tired, thanks to current world events.

I think I’ll take it to the RSPCA.

Yeah I don’t blame you. I found a nest of baby rats once under the house I was living in. Yeah not a great feeling at all. ( I had totally forgotten this actually. Was about 13/14 years ago. )

That’s confirmed, one of the other residents has seen a fight between two. So I’ll have to set the trap again. I just tried to upload a video of me releasing it but it wouldn’t upload

Yeah it’s a native. The wildlife rescue people asked me to release it in a good spot not far away

Like a snake release I guess

I wish I could upload the video it’s great

Ohhhh that’s awesome then. I had thought it was a common rat. Must admit it did look a bit different but I’m no expert.

I believe that snakes shouldn’t be released too far away or they will perish.
