Right now, it is just ridiculous how this is going. It really feels like it’s just going to be Mercedes v Ferrari all season, with Mercedes on top since Ferrari doesn’t do strategy.

        Mercedes v Ferrari all season

As opposed to Red Bull dominating the last couple seasons?

Or as opposed to Mercedes v Ferrari because all other manufacturers pulled out?

I wouldn’t say Red Bull has dominated. Max has but even he struggled for the first half of last season and unless they make big leaps with the car (not just the engine) both RB teams are going to be mid-pack for the most part.

Mercedes v Ferrari at both levels. Their engines are good, giving the teams using them an advantage.

Obviously, the main teams are benefitting the most right now. If the others can dial it in, then it may get more competitive. As long as McLaren can stay on track - literally, they may show up nicely.

Audi seems to be okay in the engine department.

I’m sure we’ll see plenty more DNS and DNF over the next couple of races.

Personally, I’m not enjoying the new regs more or less than the last ones. I like that the cars are smaller and lighter (mostly) but they’ve definitely been nerfed on the straights.

I’m very interested to see how this weekend goes. It’s still early and I’m very likely to be wrong about a lot of things.

It’s been one team leading parades for the last decade.

Actually race someone in F1 and you get a penalty.

The whole series has been a steaming pile of shit for years between refusing to get away from aero downforce and the bullshit greenwashing of hybrid drives, on the bigger bullshit of F1 innovation drives road car advances. Toyota was selling hybrid drives 12 years before F1 used them.

But that’s ok, because a Grand Prix is now a weekend festival where the race doesn’t matter any more, and the fans care more about driver fashion choices and which idiot celebrity waves the checkered flag. F1 drivers now telling media to go fuck themselves while they call themselves “the pinnacle of motorsport”. Liberty Enshittification is complete.

Liberty buys MotoGP, cancels the best race at Phillip Island because of “facility quality”, then last week had a race in Brazil where the track fell apart resulting in a shit part-race, and bumps were so bad riders crashed.
