Hey everybody,
I鈥檓 looking for a tool stack that is FOSS as much as possible, running on linux.
Currently:
- 2D Art: Krita / GIMP / InkScape
- 3D Modeling: Blender
- Engine: Godot
- Content creation: Kdenlive
All this works great, but I鈥檓 looking for a more general world editor.
I was watching this video from Blizcon 2016 and their editor, WowEdit, is just the dream. No way there is something like that right now.
What I鈥檓 mostly looking for is a tool where I can paint terrain, with a pen, like they do in the video. It needs to be able to export heightmaps and splatmaps. Do any of you have a good suggestion for this? I鈥檝e looked at TerreSculptor, but that is mostly generation of heightmaps, which is cool in it鈥檚 own right.
It鈥檚 okay if it isn鈥檛 FOSS, but being FOSS would be preferable. I try to support such projects anyway, so Free as in Libre, haha.
For Godot specifically there is TerraBrush, that could fit your needs. https://github.com/spimort/TerraBrush
Thanks! Looks like he has a devlog on YouTube, and even a demo running in the web!
I think this is exactly what I鈥檓 looking for!
@kcweller note they blame Luigi and not the CEOs making greed-based choices that ruin lives.
Im sorry, what are you referring to?
Looks like weird bug. It has different thumbnail on Mastodon, but it links to this post correctly. Here is link to Mastodon post: https://feddit.nl/post/52370698
