I have some old worlds on Wii U edition that i鈥檇 like to be able to play again in more modern game versions. Is there a way to convert these to Java edition worlds without using any Windows-specific programs, since i use Linux (Debian)?

I already have Aroma set up on the console, and i鈥檓 trying to get the worlds with Saviine now.

This might not be a very helpful response, but have you tried getting any Windows software that accomplishes this task running on Linux via WINE?

It鈥檚 worth saying for the handful of people who don鈥檛 know about Wine.

I haven鈥檛 messed with my Wii U in months so i鈥檝e mostly just focused on trying to back up my worlds to my computer in any form. I do plan to try MCC Tool Chest with Wine, but i also thought i鈥檇 ask if people know of any solution that works better or easier on Linux.

It still surprises me that there鈥檚 apparently so little overlap between people who prefer Linux over Windows and people who hack their consoles.

I鈥檇 offer to look into this for a native Linux program, but I don鈥檛 have a Wii U, so debugging would be a chore.

I think that鈥檚 the result of gamers only more recently adopting Linux. I specifically didn鈥檛 switch to Linux in 2012 because I couldn鈥檛 play the PC video games I wanted to play.

I don鈥檛 have Switch edition, and it鈥檚 my understanding that unless you have it on a cartridge you can only get Bedrock edition for Switch now. It鈥檚 cool that Chunker supports Linux tho.
