A new analysis found heavily urbanized areas of Dallas are 14 degrees hotter due to the heat island effect. Dallas planners say limiting the use of pavement could help combat the heat.

    No shit, I read a study that said planting trees in the cities cools them down by 20 degreess. That is a pretty big drop. Dallas could use that.

      I always thought more trees would be a no brainer and could be worked into the city code easily. The amount of giant parking lots with no trees is extremely high.
