When talking with people that I鈥檓 on good terms with, but aren鈥檛 my immediate family, I find that I really struggle to voice my thoughts or feelings at times without it sounding forced or insincere.

For instance, I鈥檒l want to say that something is great or that I鈥檓 sorry they鈥檝e been going through it, but when I go to actually say it, it just comes out like I鈥檓 pushing the words out of my mouth and in a very quiet voice.

Now, I鈥檒l really be feeling what I鈥檓 saying, but I notice it鈥檚 not coming out that way at all. Maybe I鈥檓 in my head too much about trying to word it right and I just am flopping the delivery entirely? I feel like I tense up a lot when I鈥檓 trying to respond genuinely.

I would really appreciate any advice or tips anyone could share :D

Thank you!

Try to be more deliberate projecting your voice. I know this from teaching. If you are at the front of the room, you want to be sure the students sitting in the back can hear you.

Thank you! I鈥檓 going to practice deliberate projecting. I can better visualize how to do this with the classroom example you gave as well.
