Mamdani’s been saying it on Twitter. He proposed some amount of tickets be reserved for locals and that they should be affordable. I don’t think he proposed signing legislation or anything, rather putting social pressure on FIFA. New Yorkers being able to afford and enjoy things in New York is, of course, wildly unpopular for the popular right wing accounts.
