Hello,
Are there any recommendations for web extensions to download images from pages you鈥檙e visiting?
I don鈥檛 normally use an extension; instead filtering through by using the Dev Tools, but these aren鈥檛 available on mobile iirc?
Thank you for your time and I really appreciate any suggestions or direction you may be able to provide!
Have a great New Year!
It might help if you could mention the ones you鈥檝e tried and why they didn鈥檛 work you and any specific features you鈥檙e looking for not available from these existing extensions.
Sorry about that.
I鈥檝e used one or more extensions for this purpose, but only on desktop and it was so short lived I don鈥檛 recall the names. I quickly shifted to using the Dev Tools as it didn鈥檛 require trusting an extension.
So, I guess one of the main focuses or concerns would be open source to help provide some slight reassurance regarding security and privacy.
Minimal permissions is also an aspect I look for when considering apps or extensions, if that matters for anyone else as well.
Otherwise, just having the option to download images from a page, which I suppose more specifically focuses on pages which don鈥檛 allow a long-press context window option; as I鈥檇 just do that if it was available.
I don鈥檛 really need bulk download options. For any such large datasets I鈥檇 use a desktop. But hopefully an extension available on mobile would save me from needing to screenshot a bunch of image text posts I can鈥檛 just download normally.
This one is open source and works for me: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/android/addon/image-picka/ It鈥檚 a bit inconvenient though, as it will save to a tar archive by default. You can change that in settings.
Isn鈥檛 shift right click an option to show context menu?
Well, some websites block that, but you can easily find the file with inspect element etc
Add-on might save time on that actually I hadn鈥檛 considered it lol
