Is there any hidden system setting, developer option, adb command, patch, and/or prop I can change to not require that? Root access is available if required (which I assume would be the case). Barring that, are there any custom ROM which don鈥檛 require periodic entry of the PIN in order to use fingerprint unlock?
Devices range from Android 11 to 14 and most currently run LineageOS.
I get why that security feature exists, I really do, but I don鈥檛 feel it鈥檚 necessary for secondary / around-the-house devices that are not full of my personal details. I鈥檇 like to leave fingerprint unlock enabled for convenience and some minor security, but I鈥檓 leaning toward just removing the PIN / security altogether.
Afaik there鈥檚 no way to change this.
But for around-the-house devices, why don鈥檛 you set them to keep unlocked when connected to your Wi-Fi or at your location?
Not all of my devices have smart lock, and the two that do only support on-body detection, GPS-based location, or trusted bluetooth devices. Those two are also the ones that aren鈥檛 fully de-Googled, so I鈥檓 guessing the smart lock is dependent on that?
I also have a block house with metal roof. With LineageOS not having A-GPS support it makes location-based smart lock untenable.
Bah. Probably just going to disable the lock entirely.
You could use Bluetooth.
Keep a dummy bluetooth device at home, let your phones connect to it, but disable media/phone going to it.
Then use that BT as part of smart lock.
Not pretty, but it does work.
This is for childproofing the thermostat?
