hasnt the scene there all changed? now its all corporate and highly controlled and CEOs in luxury tents, and the hackers there are just posers and grifters, and they don鈥檛 even burn the effigy of Bill Gates at the end

We can see still burn some oligarch effigies at the end as far as I鈥檓 concerned though
Like there is a nugget of what it used to be in there. It never goes away and you can still spend most of the con performing legally dubious pwns. Four Thieves vinegar collective came out last year and gave away Hep C treatment drugs after their talk on DIY pharmaceuticals. Dark net diaries had a Jack Rhysider masquerade which was a dope way to semi anonymity in person, of course furcon as has that function.
There鈥檚 still tables of people just messing with gear, wierd projects and tons of capture the flags.
TSA and DARPA also has a booth. AWS sponsors the wall of sheep now. You can preorder badges online. It鈥檚 weird. Shamelessly I asked people on here to see if there is anyone from the culture on here going, to see where they were going for it.
