TL;DR: IMO lemmy.zip > sopuli.xyz, sh.itjust.works > lemmy.world > beehaw.org
At first Iād probably try lemmy.zip, as itās āA Lemmy community for everyone, with a focus towards tech, PCs, and gaming.ā (in its own words). It seems fitting.
sopuli.xyz and sh.itjust.works seem to be sensible too, and each has a few game-related comms already. I donāt see many issues with either, even as I watch !yepowertrippinbastards@lemmy.dbzer0.com for free popcorn.
Thereās also lemmy.world, but that instance is already the largest one, and it would be unwise to put even more eggs in that basket. There are also political issues butā¦ meh, I donāt think theyāre relevant here, so itās still an option.
beehaw.org as a last case scenario. The game is wholesome so it would fit the instance; but youād need to ask the admins to allow you to create the comm there, and beehaw defederates from a lot of other instances (higher behaviour standards).
Note that I did not check if any of those are for 16yo+ users.

Worth noting that .zip blocks UK users (although I canāt really blame them. The situation sucks). Content is still visible through other instances (or over a vpn), but the ācanonicalā source will be unreachable in the uk.
Can confirm the .zip admin has been awesome. Not without minor issues, but Iām much happier about the community being run by some good natured guy than a faceless company or something.
+1 for zip. The admin is super cool. Never seen a single negative talk about it. Faced maintainance mode 2 times in 2 years but itās normal. Admin is a human afterall.
SJW is 16+ according to the legal section, Iām on the SJW Matrix chat and I can confirm with the admins if thereās interest.
Weāre defederated from Beehaw so if thereās any active users from there youād lose them moving to SJW, and vice versa.
Edit: .zip seems to be 18+ per their TOS, Sopuli is 16+, world is 18+, and Beehaw can refederate >:(
Edit2: Sopuli and Beehaw are still federated, Sopuli might be the right choice, but I know quite a few .ee comms are looking at piefed and theyāve got some nice migration tools but I donāt know much about the piefed instances beyond seeing their users and communities once in a while.
Lemmy.blahJ is been very good to me. LGBT inclusive and great. Just please avoid Lemmy world and shit just works ones, most toxic stuff always seems to come from them imo
BlĆ„haj is a solid option too, and I just checked their TOS and itās 16+ and they have the best loading screens š©µš©·š¤š©·š©µ
Maybe consider a different software altogether?
I just moved my account and two communities I moderated to piefed.social . The migration is pretty seamless, all post on previous community got copied to new one. So far, I see that piefed has pretty good moderation and better filtering tool than lemmy.
That said I will follow stardewvalley community wherever it is. Cheers!
