Hey Montreal, I鈥檓 here for a week. I just had two unsuccessful attempts at having good espresso (see here), so I鈥檓 looking for a recommendation. 鈽猴笍

Thank you 馃檹

    Depends what your taste is. I鈥檓 not a huge fan of third wave; I鈥檇 rather opt for old school Italian stuff. You can鈥檛 go wrong with Olimpico or Club Social on St-Viateur, Caff茅 San Simeon on Dante.

      Yeah, I don鈥檛 care much for the highest grade beans. I鈥檓 happy with a robusta blend so long as it鈥檚 extracted well. Thanks for the suggestions!

    I鈥檓 a third wave guy so my go-tos are;

    Helico

    Aube

    Paquebot

    Pista

    Jato

    Yo&Co

    Escape Lab

    Might be a little too funky for you but it definitely won鈥檛 be whatever the hell they served you in that cup.

    Caveat being that I鈥檓 not a coffee drinker, but my former co-worker who was a huge coffee snob used to drive across town to get his coffee at the roastery inside the Atwater Market.

    I鈥檓 assuming you鈥檙e not really willing to travel around to get an espresso so perhaps a general idea of which neighborhood you鈥檙e in might help?

    Otherwise as other have suggested a very traditional one is Olimpico, they have a couple of location around now (original is in the Mile End).

      Oh I travel. Turns out I鈥檝e been to Olimpico the last time I was here in 2018. Got pics of the cat at the patio:

      I鈥檒l definitely go there again!
