I want to start off by saying I haven鈥檛 played this game. The trailer makes it look like a solid Weird Western though.

I remember watching the trailer for Hunt: Showdown but it looked like the entire game took place in a swamp so I wasn鈥檛 interested. Since I wasn鈥檛 paying attention, I鈥檓 not sure at what point Hunt: Showdown became Hunt: Showdown 1896 but I don鈥檛 think they鈥檙e separate games. As far as I can tell, Hunt: Showdown 1896 replaced Hunt: Showdown and is more of a Western now. But maybe someone else can explain the differences.

Unfortunately, it looks like I might be coming to this game a bit too late because right as I realized it was a Weird West game, it was in the middle of being review-bombed:

So this post isn鈥檛 so much a recommendation as it is a request for more information. Have any of you played it? Is it good? Does that recent review bombing actually represent the game getting worse?

    I don鈥檛 play FPS typically, but Hunt is something special. I absolutely love this game and the issues it was being review bombed for have been addressed. This is definitely weird western.

    Hunt is an extraction shooter but unlike other games in the genre. It has wallhacking as a mechanic, special abilities, minimal in game loot other than what other players bring in. There are only 1-2 months between events that consistently bring new and interesting ideas to the game as a sort of beta for permanent additions. It is a fps you can play highly aggressive or very slow and still be a viable strategy, heck even both in the same match with the same load out.

    Also, the sound. Hunts soundscape and audio tracking is bar none the best I have ever witnessed. This is the one thing everyone who has touched HS has agreed on.
