Obviously I will look stupid for this, but I run my tires way too much down on a road trip I鈥檓 currently doing. I鈥檓 driving 1700km (~1000miles) from the north of Norway to the south. The tires should鈥檝e probably have been changed before I left. Either way, I鈥檓 stuck about 500km (~300miles) from my destination. Fortunately I managed to find new tires with the correct dimensions close by. But, moral of the story, don鈥檛 run your tires down like this.
Plenty of tread left on the sides. Just make sure to stay on twisty roads for the last 500 miles.
Oh my god, I work at a motorcycle dealership and even I hardly see tires come in looking this over worn. Even the guys who do burnouts in the back usually let off once they get down to the strip
On the side of the tire you have an indicator for the Thread left. It鈥檚 called TWI, thread wear indicator. Once it鈥檚 on level with the surface that touches the road, change tires.
Tires are cheap but don鈥檛 cheap out
