After some time away from EVE (arguably quite some time) I felt like getting back into it. I have had some good times and some terrible times but all in all I like most of it.
After installing the game and logging back in, trying to figure out what all my accounts were and what they were good at, I realised that the Omega price has gone through the roof so much that I鈥檇 rather live with the itch and find something else to do.
It鈥檚 sad though, because I liked the universe but I can simply not spend that kind of money on a game

Personally, I actually came back for the grind. I like the laid back gameplay of mining and transporting. I had looked forward to getting better at exploration. But $20 for laid back, casual grindy gaming, is too much for me.
I just recently started playing again, I鈥檓 having fun on the alpha front. I should be able to start making decent isk soon so hopefully I can just Plex my omega
I am sure you could but then it becomes a job just to be able to play. You鈥檒l end up doing stuff for hours just to pay for subs. Sure its fun to achieve a few months in a row but youd also want to play the game instead of making ISK
Yeah maybe - suppose I could just bulk pay my omega upfront to save money. Maybe I鈥檒l do that later - I鈥檓 fine cruising in my venture right now tbh
I鈥檝e been getting the itch a lot lately as well. I鈥檝e mostly staved it off with other space games, but none in my inventory really have the risk of flying like with EVE.
I got my eye on starship evo, I鈥檓 hoping it eventually turns out into a nice one.
Now you鈥檝e got me trying to remember what it was before. I know it鈥檚 always been on the expensive side compared to other MMOs, but can鈥檛 remember specifics.
拢16 ($20) a month now, with discounts for buying more than one month at a time, if anyone cba to look it up. I want to say it was about 12ish last time I played? Might be entirely making that up though.
It was $15 pr month last time I was here. That was already pricy IMO.
That is about 拢12 according to the internet, so at least my memory is still intact.
If only the endless amount of free time I used to have for playing was still intact too :D
Hey, old thread by now but for anyone complaining about price, you鈥檙e completely justified.
I would not pay 20/mo either. You can still get game time down to as low as approx 8/mo but it requires committing, finding a sale, and paying up front for the 12 or 24/mo.
I get a lot of people don鈥檛 want to commit that long or don鈥檛 have that spare $ up front.
I hate that they鈥檝e gamified paying for the game.
