As a socialist and internationalist, I abhor war. But the basic premise of self-determination justifies the resistance of ordinary Ukrainians to Vladimir Putin鈥檚 brutal invasion of our country.

    I mean, you鈥檇 have to be evil to support the invasion, regardless of being a socialist or not.

    I鈥檓 surprised that any leftist could support Russia in this war. It鈥檚 litteraly the remake of nazi Germany invading Poland. Fortunately Ukraine held firm, but I would have liked Europe to be more involved instead of hiding behind nato.

    On the other hand, I agree that western countries and nato gave reasons for Russia to go full nazi by antagonising and isolating it. But this is even more of a responsibility for nato and western powers to solve this conflict the right way, which is the capitulation with no condition from Russia.
