I really see no other explanation. Outside of a handful of situations (primarily romantic or sexual), there's no possible way that anyone can be directly affected by anyone else's gender identification. So it's rather obviously the case that taking the position that it's of such importance that one can and should interfere with, override or even prohibit someone else's preference represents an unhealthy obsession at best.
