I purposely “watch” ads because I think it’s funny that me doing it causes company’s to think they work and therefore spend more money, I cannot think of a single thing I bought because of an ad, sure some things I have learned about because of ads but if I bought the product it is because I researched the product and it fit with my expectations, most of the time I buy competitive products because my assessment process asigns negative points for ads that annoy me.

How do we determine the worth of a life? Is a human worth more than a cow? How many ant lives equal 1 chicken life?

Personally I respect all life, and I also raise butcher and eat animals, it’s hypocritical and I honestly don’t care.

My wife has an irrational fear of slugs, like completely locked up and shaking if she sees one. We have spent 20 years together trying to figure out where her phobia came from.

She is in therapy now and was talking through it with her therapist and the therapist asked “what do you fear will happen” my wife told her all the images that flash in her mind when she thinks about slugs. Turns out the therapist is a big horror movie fan and knew of a movie where those exact things happened.

Well about the time that the movie came out on VHS my wife was being watched by an abusive relative who liked to rent scary movies and force her to watch them.

In the 80s we figured we would be abducted, if not that, it would be quicksand that got us, and if that failed,we would spontaneously combust, and if all else failed the hole in the ozone layer would destroy all life on earth. We were so concerned with all that happening that we all became kinda apathetic.

I grew up in the times of “look at me when I talk to you” and would get in trouble for “looking past the person”. So I developed an ability to make eye contact while unfocusing my eyes. Turns out if you make eye contact long enough people get uncomfortable and look away thereby letting you relax.

I don’t think it’s throwing them under the bus, in a normal presidency the advisors advise and the president makes disisions. So if shit goes wrong it is the presidents failing.

I’m pretty sure in Trumps case the advisors are actually calling the shots, then Trump is briefed. In this case it is 100% Hegseth’s failing. But also 100% Trumps for deligating it in the first place.

I explain it as asking 100 people to Google something and taking the most common answer.

The autistic person in me who has spent days trying to figure out how to get troops into Iran without insane losses kinda wants to see how this plays out.

But I can’t find a “good” way to accomplish the task, so I’m really hoping it doesn’t come down to it.

So far the only way I see it being done without extensive US casualties, calls for completely destroying Iran’s energy network and waiting for them to capitulate and that will come with enormous loss of civilian lives.

I hope I’m wrong or that we find a diplomatic solution.

That’s what we would do normally, insert a relatively small group on the airport, take control then bring in all the other troops. But Iran isn’t stupid so they have covered the runways with shit. Dropping guys on it would be risky and it would be very hard to clear with a small force.

There is probably something I am missing but I don’t see a good way to get troops on the ground.

Edit: I have spent the day looking at this the only viable solution I see is send cruise missiles to completely knock out the electric system while also sending in a massive air asualt, but then you have the issue of staging all the choppers somewhere.

This is going to be a nightmare.

Can’t take the airport because it is literally a parking lot, Can’t realy stage forces anywhere, without them eating drones and rockets so it’s either a drop or beach landing.

I can see Hegseth pushing for a drop so his name would be tied to an historic event.
