  • I see posts about a small percentage of MAGAts saying they made a terrible mistake and we say leopards ate their face; but somehow I don’t see likewise with “former” Zionists admitting their support for Israel was a bad idea or owning up to it.

Either they still support genocide or they think they can wash their hands of their mistaken views just because Zionist Dems lost 2024 (which was like, 40% or higher!) and thus somehow are absolved of responsibility. I would like if at least someone would admit their views in 2024 were a result of propaganda and misguided.

  • This is correct, mostly because apparently they already knew Strait of Hormuz was an issue. War is off the table if it hurts economically.

But bombing school girls? I could see it not stopping them. They just wouldn’t be as inept to waste missiles on it; it wouldn’t stop them if there was a strategic reason. They’re not much better than Israel, if our actions in Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria are any indication.

  • I play so many old games I practically forgot about yellow paint, but the last AAA I played didn’t use that or minimaps, and despite being mostly linear, it was an absolute chore in an overly detailed environment.

Ya don’t need literal yellow paint like in some games (although I know there’s reasons for that) but lighting is really a nice way to do it. And in either case it’s better than waymarks and big ol’ arrows pointing the fastest route to a quest target, I still want to use my brain a little after all!

  • As I tell my students jokingly, inside you there are two primates: a chimp and a bonobo.

One or two students laugh because she remembered chimps are bloodthirsty assholes and bonobos just want to fuck. Their both our evolutionary cousins, though.

At the end of the day, both are sides of human nature but the strongest side seems to be cooperative, not competitive, since tribe survival is so important (including with other tribes). Greed might be “fit” occasionally but typically isn’t worth the risk of alienating the tribe. A lone human is typically a dead human.

    Until capitalism, anyway.

I wish the industry would just adopt standards like what RetroAchevements already does that prohibits both ends of the spectrum. Excessive achievements (as well as multiplayer) get subsets, progression achievements still exist but mostly to track “beating” a game. Nothing too easy, although April 1sts “Baby Mode” set for FF8 was fantastic. Lol

Having a standard made it higher in my mind than Steam achievements. Technically PS and Xbox have set rules too but not nearly as well thought out (e.g. what classifies as a Bronze vs Gold) and still allow some real unoriginal bullshit lol
