Or protected bike paths.
Or trams and LRTs.
Or even just some goddamn EV subsidies again.

Oh hey, a second reason to carry a schrader valve tool in my bike storage! Time to give every car here a pair of flat left tires.

Heh, it’s on the right track. But as an IT guy and tech nerd, I’d want to go for something like this. I’ve even set mine up for computer logins back when I had an Active Directory test environment for learning.
Isn’t there a thing where car thiefs use an RF booster to make newer cars think the keyfob is right next to the receiver?
Personally, I’d want an antenna on/off switch that gets activated by shoving it in the keyfob hole. Seems reasonably secure.

Pull the plug, set voltmeter to AC, and read the voltage across the prongs. If you get anything over the usual float voltage you get from just holding the probes ungrounded, then you have a problem.
Redundancies and failsafes are always a best practice in engineering work. This is no different.

You give anything a connection to a global network with billions of people, and there will always be a chance for it to be exploited. Hell, even my personal OpenVPN instance for remotely accessing my home servers has to fend off attacks.
This is why my next vehicle will be a slate truck. Zero internet connectivity by default, and updates can be done via USB-C from a phone (which can be vetted as needed).
Four casinos actually. Six if you count the two that got bankrupted twice.

If done wrong, even a medium roast will come out tasting like Folger’s. Moderately higher quality Folger’s due to the freshness, of course, but still Folger’s.

So shrink 'em down then. They’re only that big due to the old CARB or CAFE regulations anyways (I forget which), and those are gone now too. So you can sell them domestically at that smaller size too.
In fact, I’m curious on what the size and weight limits are, and if the Slate truck will fit within them. It’ll be awesome if it can sell as-is with no modifications.
