    A lot of those people are simply racists that are irredeemable.

    But there is still a large number of people who are just a product of their environment. Be it not having the time or resources to be able to vote (especially as disenfranchising voters has been a core of the Republican agenda), lacking the education the make informed decisions (dismantling and defending education has also been a goal), being inundated by billionaire propaganda machines in every aspect of their life (news, TV and film, social media and paid actors or bots astroturfing)…

    It’s easier to understand how someone can be swindled into not being involved in the political process. And these aren’t exclusively US issues, they are global problems. Other nations have had some better infrastructure to deter them, or strong leaders to fight them. But this isn’t exclusively on the individual.

    You say some are apathetic and lazy, you’re demoralized and hold that against them. That’s exactly what the ghouls in power want. They stole something from those people. Be it the time, the money, the knowledge, to stand up against evil. But you’re blaming the individual.

    I’m not saying everyone is good. There’s a lot of terrible people. But falling for the trap set in front of you is just as bad.

    Nah, fuck this woman and she should be shamed. ‘after a decade I realized nazis are actually bad people’ (and let’s be honest it’s not even this deep of a level of introspection) doesn’t excuse a decade of supporting nazis.

    Is it good she has reached this bare minimum level of comprehension of reality? Yes.

    But unless she’s actively seeking recompense to destroy the very thing she helped grow, fuck her. And ‘my bad’ isn’t ‘I’m sorry for actively contributing to the destruction of thousands of people’s lives’.

    What’s pathetic is your whining. Like, what does ‘don’t get credit’ even mean? They updated the software with a thing people requested. Yeah, they did something a lot of people didn’t want. Great. Nobody is here saying ‘omg Mozilla is so amazing for giving us this great feature’ and Mozilla is still drifting into the evil capitalist corpo garbage they’ve been headed towards.

    We get it, you don’t like ai. And many people who have had to use LLMs recognize them for the bullshit machines they are. I’m not here to defend them.

    But stop being a little bitch about it. If you want to complain, complain about the myriad issues they haven’t bothered fixing or addressing.
