There is a non-zero chance that right wing billionaires orchestrate an impeachment to replace Trump with Vance if he keeps footbulleting his way into deep unpopularity. They would let Trump, Hegseth et al be the scapegoat for the unpopular stuff while trying to rebrand back to a faux moderate position.

punkideas@lemmy.worldto politics @lemmy.world•Fearing GOP upset, top California Democrat urges lagging candidates for governor to drop out of race8·1 month agoIt’s a poison pill to force strategic voting and push people towards candidates that are backed by money. Colorado turned down ranked choice voting, and a lot of it was due to a similar single-vote primary system being packaged with it to make it not work well for actually electing candidates the people want. Voting reform activists knew this and made sure enough people knew that ranked choice elections was a trojan horse for a bad single vote primary system.

A lot of gins can be categorized based on their flavor profile. Some common ones are juniper-forward, herbal, or citrus. A lot of the bigger names are more juniper-forward gins, and a lot of craft gins are citrus or herbal. The best way to figure out what gins you will like is to go to a good bar with a gin selection, and ask the bartender for recommendations that are similar to the one you liked. Also, learn to identify different flavors that you like or dislike. Often, you can find descriptions of different gins (and other spirits) either on labels or online.
Finally, don’t be afraid to revisit something you didn’t like in a few years. Your palate and preferences can and will change, and you might really like something you didn’t enjoy before.

It looked like a way to implement ranked choice while creating a system where less moderate candidates would be eliminated in the primary.

Anyone who isn’t truly rich is coming to the conclusion that it’s becoming increasingly hard to get ahead in the economy over the long term, and the measures they use for economic health are becoming increasingly divorced from this reality. Things getting mildly better for some people over the recent past don’t offset people’s economic realities.
