lps@lemmy.mlto Open Source@lemmy.ml•PeerTube mobile app : discover videos while caring for your attention8·1 year agoIt’s important to note that currently it’s in early beta, and in order to avoid playstore and apple store issues you only have access to a curated list of peertube instances.
So for example you can’t connect it to your personal instance ATM… This will be available likely on a fdroid version or more widely after they manage to jump the official stores hurdles.
PikaOS looks cool, never heard of it, but it had me a Debian optimized hardware and software support:). What’s the hyprland version?

Personally, I don’t this will have much success because titok is driven by algorithms and influencers…it’s built for lazy scrolling consumers that follow the latest trends. People that use it don’t care about the data privacy or ethics of it, they just want to know what the latest song or dance craze is … Add to that ease of use to add graphics and music tracks. Also reach is everything.
lps@lemmy.mlto Technology@lemmy.ml•Ford Chairman & CEO Jim Farley Wakes After Decade-long Nap, Shocked By China's EVs - CleanTechnica4·2 years agoSubsidies are another way to say State planning, which is how you direct the “free market”. No capitalist, which includes China, will “innovate” without being baited with money.
There are massive subsidies in the US as well, but these go into the pockets of the CEOs and political/financial class. If this were to happen in China they’d go missing like Jack Ma of Alibaba until he got his head right.
lps@lemmy.mlto Canada@lemmy.ml•From Bad to Worse: Canada’s Productivity Slowdown is Everyone’s Problem2·2 years agoCanadian’s standard of living, as measured by real GDP per person, was lower in 2023 than in 2014.>
So due to productivity declines, not the fact that employers face no repercussions for laying off tax paying workers, the gov may eventually need to raise taxes due to diminished revenues…go figure.
Is there any reason workers aren’t “workering” harder?! ;)
I thought that only shit hole countries did that;)
