We are currently working on implementing a new virtual keyboard called QVK that will built into Plasma:

That is the proposal page. Of all proposals, and there are always quite few, the community votes and selects three to work on for two years. This one was not selected.

“Sandbox all the things” is not currently a KDE goal.

Spectacle release cycle has moved to that of Plasma and will be installed with Plasma, as a part of Plasma.
It used to be am independent app and on many distros you would install it separately (like on Arch) and its release cycle was that of KDE Gear.
And let’s not forget everyone who contributed by using, testing, or blogging about our projects! Whether it was with code, art, bug reports, social media posts, or anything else, by desinterestedly lending your time and skill, regardless of if it was on a regular basis (shout out to all our hardworking devs!) or with a one-time, flyby commit that sniped a bug out of your favorite app, you too helped make KDE better for everybody this year.
