Lekker pedant

Maar wat wat je punt dan? Ik snap het nog steeds niet. Ik zeg dat het me een slechte beslissing lijkt en jij zegt “ja maar daar hebben we voor gestemd”. Dat is een red herring en niet relevant (en niet eens waar).

Uh, nee, hoe kom je daar bij? We stemmen op partijen (of mensen op de kieslijst iig) en daar komt uiteindelijk een kabinet uit met ministers. Dat besluiten wij als kiezers niet. En al helemaal niet zulke individuele beslissingen, we hebben hier niet eens referanda.

Plus, mijn hele punt was dat ik dit geen goede beslissing vind. Wat heeft dat te maken met de verkiezingen? Ik snap je punt niet.

Nee hoor

Ik quote het artikel dat ik linkte. Inderdaad één hier in Nederland, maar mijn punt staat:

Er staat niks over of dit nieuwe systeem voor Oekraïne is. Dat zou ik prima vinden, maar geef het geld dan gewoon aan Oekraïne of laat hen bepalen wat te kopen, dat weten ze zelf prima en zal niet iets zijn wat pas over een paar jaar klaar is voor gebruik.

Treurig. Iemand hier leraar of ouder van kinderen die naar school gaan?

Ik ben benieuwd wat voor lange termijn consequenties dit gaat hebben. Elke generatie zegt volgens mij wel dat “de jeugd van tegenwoordig” lui is, maar kunnen kinderen überhaupt nog wel kritisch nadenken? Voor alles heeft het een (fout) antwoord, zelf nadenken is niet meer nodig…

Tja, het defensie budget is er omdat er een keuze is gemaakt om het te verhogen en minder geld uit te geven aan andere dingen. Dat zegt toch niets over of dit wel of niet een goede beslissing is?

De vorige minister zegt: 1 zo’n systeem is genoeg. We zijn nu niet eens een jaar verder en we geven een miljard uit om een tweede te kopen. Dat voelt enorm tegenstrijdig.

Nederland betaalt er bijna een miljard euro voor

Zijn er mensen die hier veel van af weten? Voor mij als leek klinkt dit als een bizar kutbesluit dat niet te verantwoorden is in een tijd dat we er als burger alleen maar op achteruit gaan en toch juist minder afhankelijk van de VS willen worden?

Ja volgens mij hebben zo goed als alle aanbieders van variabele contracten een soort van app oid waarmee je kan instellen wanneer je auto begint met opladen. Ik heb geen auto maar dit zou ik zeker gebruiken. Meestal is midden in de nacht relatief goedkoop, maar de prijzen zijn midden op de dag het laagst. Ik gok dat het vooral door zonnestroom komt.

Ik zeg dit wel maar vandaag midden in de nacht is de prijs 0 (je betaalt wel altijd belasting) en dat komt gok ik omdat het hard waait.

I mean this article isn’t really about specific industries requiring electricity but more about the general state of the system and how it’s an ongoing struggle to keep up with demand and that there are growing waiting lists. I feel like you’re making a big fuss over nothing.

Also it seems like in your research you failed to notice the NOS is a public organisation and has no shareholders. Not everything is a conspiracy…

Daarom moeten we het stroomnet volgens Netbeheer Nederland efficiënter gaan gebruiken. In de praktijk is het maar op een paar momenten van de dag echt vol. Bijvoorbeeld in de avondspits als veel mensen thuiskomen, lichten aanzetten en gaan koken. Daarbuiten is nog veel ruimte die niet wordt gebruikt.

Ik heb zelf een variabel contract (heet dat zo?) waar ik een klein vast bedrag per maand betaal en voor de rest de uurprijs. Ben benieuwd wat er zou gebeuren als dat de standaard wordt, of zelfs verplicht.

Persoonlijk zet ik nooit de vaatwasser of wasmachine aan op piekmomenten, tenzij het echt niet anders kan. Ik heb geen kinderen en werk vaak thuis, dus voor mij is het ook wel makkelijk. En ik eet meestal 's middags warm en 's avonds iets waar ik niet mijn inductie fornuis of oven ofzo aan heb.

Volgens mij ben ik zo ongeveer de ideale stroomverbruiker. Ik snap uiteraard dat veel mensen een heel ander ritme hebben, maar er zullen genoeg huishoudens zijn die de piekmomenten meer kunnen vermijden. Moet je er wel een reden voor hebben natuurlijk.

I don’t own a car so it doesn’t affect me directly. Just hope they government doesn’t remove taxes to make it cheaper. If they’re gonna go anything they should make public transport cheaper and get people out of cars.

The most powerful country in the world is sliding into fascism, we are months away from from perhaps the most consequential election in US history and the response from you is “nothing can be done, and thinking about it too much is bad for my mental health”.

Of course I’m simplifying and I definitely empathise with the many Americans who are suffering and struggling, but if you think that my comment is “dangerous” then surely so is your defeatist message?

So much can still be done, and it’s vitally important to keep caring and try and protect democracy and rule of law. Who is the “we” you are talking about? Because surely it’s far from all Americans.

Yeah it’s such an important feature to have. I don’t drive a car and use public transport a lot. I use a regular old website for it which is fine, but having it included in a map app would be amazing.

I used to use Transportr — https://transportr.app/ — but at some point it stopped working for the country where I live.

Organic Maps does already work for the tube in London and other metro systems. Not live information, but at least in London they run so often that it didn’t matter to me. Having the route was most important and in fact multiple times gave better results than when my partner tried Google maps.

I don’t entirely agree or disagree with you. I think they have basically no chance of getting asylum because the dutch government doesn’t see the US as an unsafe place and so in a way this is taking away time and resources from people who, like you said, are fleeing from things like civil wars.

Also as an american you can move to the Netherlands legally relatively easily! You need money, yes, but it’s waaaaaay easier for an american than for basically any other non European. You can start your own company here, invest not even that much and you get a residency permit. I know multiple Americans here who have done this, including a non binary person (irrelevant but for them it was a reason to leave the US).

At the same time I can’t blame anyone from wanting to escape a threatening and dangerous situation. Just getting on a flight is the quickest way to safety, so of course I empathise (and clearly so do you, just to make that clear).

Barbaric. Capital punishment is not compatible with a free society.

Well a monarchy is backwards and women not being allowed to become monarch is also backwards… So then we’re looking forward, right?

As we notice we’re getting older (I’m still sort of young, honest!), my partner and I like to remind each other that aging is a privilege. I really hope we get to grow old together.
