I have the same issue with lemmy.world for every tab except top, but only when I’m logged in. If I log out, everything is fine.

I’m wondering if it has something to do with my VPN, although I guess I’ve never tried turning it off to check.

If you figure it out, shoot me a line. I’d be much appreciative.

I haven’t seen anything about Timemore in here yet, but I’ll throw my recommendation for those in the mix. I’ve got a C3ESP Pro and it’s great for pourover, moka pot and espresso grinds. It’s not quite up to snuff for French Press, but I don’t know if any hand grinder is gonna be capable of doing both ends very well without breaking your budget.

My sister just got the C5S Pro and it’s also great, the burrs are slightly more precise than on mine but it takes a little while longer to grind 20 grams than on my C3ESP. Both of these are well within your budget, if you wait until January 1st they’ll be slightly more affordable on AliExpress. Good luck and happy grinding!

FWIW, you can install Win11 on unsupported hardware with a pretty easy registry edit to bypass the TPM check. I did it for my mom’s PC that lives 600 miles away from me, thus far with no issues.

If it has to be Linux, I’d recommend something that’s immutable and atomic on a platform you’re familiar with so as to prevent careless mistakes by technophobes.

Ubuntu Core, Fedora Silverblue, MicroOS from openSUSE are all pretty stable and have rollback if something gets borked. Unfortunately, nothing is guaranteed to ‘just work’. Good luck!

I’ve been having the same problem, and it seems to be some kind of https resolution thing. I thought maybe it was a proxy or VPN issue, but I disabled those and rebooted and it was still the same.

What fixes it for me is to load literally any page(I use duckduckgo) on the built in browser on Lineage and then go back to Fennec and it runs like normal until it doesn’t again. I’m hoping an update comes soon.

Unless you can get one custom built, about the only option outside the Framework is an Asus Tuf A16(Win11) from 2023 with a possible best configuration of 7940HS and Radeon 7700S.

There’s a Chinese metamechbook01 that has a 7600XT(possibly slightly faster than the 7700S), but I’ve never seen it for sale anyplace reputable. Could be time to stop beating the dead horse.

I’d get an MSI MAG B550 TOMAHAWK of some sort and chuck all your current stuff in there and call it a day. It’s been the budget industry champ for Ryzen 3000 and 5000 chips for 5 years now.

It has lots of power with a rock solid Mosfet and there are only a couple of RGB lights that can be set to white and static which matches the decor pretty well. It’s currently 130USD on Bezos ‘R’ US.

I’m pretty sure the Exynos S10/Note 10 series from 2019 was the last unlockable bootloader Samsung S you could get.

You could try to sell it or trade it in for something that’s unlockable. Outside of Pixels, Motorola and OnePlus tend to have the most new-ish devices that run custom ROMs.

I just found a decently priced Motorola Edge 40 Pro that I set up with LineageOS, it was stupid easy. Supposedly, it’s getting Android 16 at some point early next year.

Depending on the tablet, you might not be able to unlock the bootloader. I have a Chinese Lenovo model Y770 that’s not unlockable.

You can always remove your google account from the tablet and install Aurora Store and f-droid to keep google from tracking what you’re using. Every step in the right direction is a step away from google.

Using Open Street Maps, Mull, Brave, librewolf, various proton apps or whatever you prefer will let you get away from the built in google stuff.
