What a sad attempt at trolling. Repeat after me, the ethnonationalist settler colony of Israel is conducting a genocide on the Palestinian people.

folilzodos@lemmy.worldto World News@lemmy.world•‘Don’t worry about me. I’m fine’: Kremlin critic Navalny from Arctic jailEnglish1·2 years agoIf you’d read the article, you’d have seen that those complaints didn’t come from Westerners, but rather from Russians who complained about e.g. his anti immigrant stance, equating immigrants to „cockroaches“ or dressing as a dentist and making a metaphor that immigrants were a pain that needs to be removed. He hasn’t distanced himself from these statements. Therefore Amnesty International’s Moscow office reluctantly rescinded his “prisoner of conscience“ status.
You pretend like nationalist authoritarianism is a phenomenon exclusive to Russia, or like this would be some kind of special case. No it is not. I come from a place with equally rotten politics and we have people being marked as terrorists nowadays who were pushed as freedom fighters by the Westerns back in the day because they were against their enemy. The Americans conveniently ignored all their fascistic tendencies or said something like you do about having to understand the specific culture, etc. to justify supporting those people. And now they’re backing someone else to get rid of the people they once supported, again ignoring anything that doesn’t fit into their narrative. If you now think you know where I’m from, believe me you don’t, this is such a common trope it has happened in too many places. Your situation is not unique and if you support a fascist you get fascism.

folilzodos@lemmy.worldto World News@lemmy.world•‘Don’t worry about me. I’m fine’: Kremlin critic Navalny from Arctic jailEnglish815·2 years agoIt’s good that he opposes Putin but because of that people seem to completely overlook the fact that this guy is a right wing populist himself.
Edit: because people apparently cba to read the article, let me add some additional info: Amnesty International’s Moscow office reluctantly rescinded his “prisoner of conscience“ status. Russians who complained about e.g. his anti immigrant stance, equating immigrants to „cockroaches“ or dressing as a dentist and making a metaphor that immigrants were a pain that needs to be removed. He hasn’t distanced himself from these statements. Therefore, even though Amnesty International initially dismissed those complaints they had to comply because there were just too many complaints.

folilzodos@lemmy.worldto World News@lemmy.world•A Palestinian student deleted her social media. Israel revoked her permitEnglish3·2 years agoWhile I’m aware this story happened in a different context: Anyone who has a „wrong“ sounding name is invited to try their luck at Tel Aviv Airport. Bonus points if you’re not white. Extra bonus points if solo traveling female. There’s nothing special about this story in a sense that they do these kinds of interrogations every day, including stalking people’s social media & deporting people critical of the Israeli government.
folilzodos@lemmy.worldto World News@lemmy.world•Israel-Gaza war will continue for months, IDF chief warnsEnglish146·2 years agoLiterally no one I know supports Israel. There are constant protests pro-Palestine in pretty much all Western countries. Pro-Israel rallies do exist & the media tries hard to bring them into focus, but they’re nowhere near as big nor frequent. The public opinion is rightfully on the side of the Palestinians. Our political leaders are out of touch and just follow their next paycheck.
If Aljazeera is a Hamas Propaganda outlet then Haaretz and every other Israeli newspaper are Zionist propaganda outlets.

folilzodos@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•So, who or what ruined Christmas this year?266·2 years agoSay it with me, the ethnonationalist settler colony Israel is conducting a genocide on the Palestinian people. This is happening in front of our eyes. We can see it unfolding in real time. It’s not too late for you to stop supporting a genocidal state and be on the right side of history instead. And let me say it very explicitly. The right side of history is the side of the Palestinian people.

Keine Ahnung.
Quality shitposting
folilzodos@lemmy.worldto Europe@feddit.de•Central Paris attack leaves one dead and one injuredEnglish7·2 years agoWell but Kemalism is also just a cult of personality with a nationalist agenda attached to it.
I can only repeat. The problem is fascists doing fascist stuff. And finding whatever reason to justify it. The most deadly dictatorships in history were all non religious.
folilzodos@lemmy.worldto Europe@feddit.de•Central Paris attack leaves one dead and one injuredEnglish7·2 years agoCool then replace Zoroastrians with Kemalists and also replace Iranian with expat in the West from Istanbul and we’re all set except that Kemalists were in power before and weren’t any less fascist than Islamists.
folilzodos@lemmy.worldto Europe@feddit.de•Central Paris attack leaves one dead and one injuredEnglish92·2 years agoLet me guess you’re from Iran? Sounds like every Iranian I’ve ever met. Your problem isn’t Islam or any other religion, your problem is being oppressed by a facist dictatorship that uses a religion to legitimize themselves. If they had labeled themselves as Zoroastrians then you’d live under pretty much the same fucked up regime, but you’d blame it all on Zoroastrians instead of a bunch of dicks who fucked over your country for their own benefit.
folilzodos@lemmy.worldto Europe@feddit.de•Central Paris attack leaves one dead and one injuredEnglish291·2 years agoThey hate that like what 99.9% of Muslims in Europe just live here like anyone else. They don’t want that. They want westerners to hate Muslims and Muslims to feel rejected by society. These terrorists then want to make it seem as if they’d be standing up for and protecting Muslims against this hatred. Then, they have a very narrow view on what makes someone a „real“ Muslim and want to make that view the mainstream. Now for any normal Muslim, they would need to decide if they lose their religion or start becoming „real“ Muslims. It’s very black and white. And then for someone who truly believes, this puts them in a very difficult spot from a psychological point of view.
These people just abuse the fear of people on all sides.
I mean Jesus was born in Palestine and there are still many Christian Palestinians, some of them living in Betlehem, the birthplace of Jesus.
There’s even many news reports about how Christmas in Betlehem is canceled. I know it’s hard to comprehend but shit is really that serious. This year’s Christmas is canceled in the birthplace of Christmas.
