The only problem I have with that is the notion that a company gets to consolidate funds that were previously going to an actual real person. Now, if we could rely on big business to pass on those savings to their customers and employees, that would be one thing. But we can’t.

I had an S8 a couple years back and upgraded to an S10 when it first came out. The notification light went away and it was a huge bummer. I now have a Pixel 7 and it doesn’t have it either, so I’ve learned to live without it.

I order enough off Amazon that faster delivery is a major draw for me. Ordering from other merchants is a drag because Amazon set the standard forever ago. But is it worth $140/year? Lol, it is easier to distinguish between people of your own culture, that’s been tested. That said, it was a real dumb thing to say.
What gets me is that yeah that’s their excuse, but if someone treated, say, an orangutan or a baboon like this I’d think that was pretty fucked up too. We were so gross. We still are (dog fighting, circus elephants etc) but the cruelty that we’re capable of without what is essentially moral peer pressure, is chilling to think about. Even today we fight tooth and nail against moral progress and treating everyone with respect.
Here is an important example of the disconnect between liberal and conservative interpretation of the word “socialist”. Economists would not label Scandinavian countries as socialist. Meanwhile conservatives point to Cuba and Venezuela as examples of socialist failure when that’s not entirely true either. We’re talking past each other in these debates.
