Fuck me, this response genuinely makes me feel less safe in the UK. What the fuck does the orange paedophile have to do before this utter prick stops siding with him.

I got the impression the first half is Watts proper and the second half is ai to put a modern spin on it. I didn’t hate it tbh. Provoked emotion from me as it really hits the nail.
Feels like they’re trying to be ‘modern’ by not going with the lines and being blocky instead.
Yeah, if you tried to hold a cat like that they would not be impressed.
bob@feddit.ukto Linux@lemmy.ml•[solved] Has anyone set up a RaspberryPi with Alpine Linux as a headless system?51·3 months agoalso asked AI and it said that by default Alpine uses dropbear for ssh instead of openssh and the latter could be more strict when it comes to permissions. I’m not so familiar with the workings of ssh
I’d stick to Raspbian if you’re struggling.

Yes he might not be a saint, but we’re also talking about a period that was 100 years ago, we can appreciate a novel without worshipping the author. In the same way we can dislike it without slamming him, I think calling him a ‘pathetic man’ is a bit much.
bob@feddit.ukto UK Politics@feddit.uk•The penalty for disagreeing with government policy on Palestine is 14 Years in prison2·3 months agoA genuine question; why do you consider George Orwell a ‘pathetic man’?

The companies have made different choices in how they build their software.

bob@feddit.ukto Privacy@lemmy.ml•Most, if not all car companies collect and profile your data, how can I improve my privacy when buying a modern car?4·5 months agoI find this a bit misleasing, especially when (in the uk) electricity is only ~50% renewables apparently.
https://www.zemo.org.uk/assets/workingdocuments/MC-P-11-15a Lifecycle emissions report.pdf
For example, a typical medium sized family car will create around 24 tonnes of CO2 during its life cycle, while an electric vehicle (EV) will produce around 18 tonnes over its life. For a battery EV, 46% of its total carbon footprint is generated at the factory.
So EVs are a small improvement. Since I enjoy older cars and my privacy a lot more, I’m gonna keep enjoying them and not let manafacturers ram EVs down my throat, especially when a lot of them are hideous SUVs.

Then He Quit | Novara Media2·5 months agoI agree it’s been more stumbling boulders than blocks so far, but I’m more optimistic. Even if it fails I think even just their effort can encourage more people that there can be another way, maybe the eventual answer will come from a different new party, cos like you say Labour is showing they aren’t the answer.
I rarely bother giving media any attention, let alone let it influence my opinion. What frustates me is when other people do.
bob@feddit.ukto UK Politics@feddit.uk•We Asked This MP If He Really Wanted to Be in Your Party. Then He Quit | Novara Media4·5 months agoI didn’t say anything was going well either. They’re barely off the ground and the amount of articles slamming them is ridiculous. We live in a so called democracy, so let’s let a new democratic party form and vote if we believe in them and their plan. I’m bored of this soap opera style journalism.
bob@feddit.ukto UK Politics@feddit.uk•We Asked This MP If He Really Wanted to Be in Your Party. Then He Quit | Novara Media73·5 months agoDoes it? Or do the media continue to attempt to drive that belief into the public because they’re funded by other parties?
Oh look, another media outlet putting down Corbyn…

Glad I didn’t wake up in the middle of the night to watch that. Overtakes just felt artificial, the only interesting battle was Gasly v Ocon, and we saw barely any of that because the coverage seems somehow even worse than last year.
I think that’s what’s making me lose interest more than the new rules. We saw basically nothing of cars lower than 6th place other than stupid picture in picture, if I wanted a screen that small I’d watch the whole thing on my phone. There was minimal graphics and even less talk about strategy with the new rules, where and why battery is being deployed etc. We’re watching cars breeze past each other as the commentator screams about how exciting this is and keeps banging on about sweets. (This is Sky coverage, so idk if it’s better elsewhere, but I assume everyone has the same images at least.)
