  • Did you just take a civics course or something? We’re making the same point. You’re using liberalism in the correct way, but it’s not correct in the current social structure and your argument is getting lost. Liberals are a party. A left of centre belief today. The description you just posted is more of a libertarian and right view point. In fact the comic posted is satire of the right a-la Charlie Kirk “curious”. I think we’re on the same page but your verbiage is inciting the wrong message.

First is political liberalism which espouses wholesome ideas such as individual freedoms and democracy. Second is economic liberalism centred around free markets, private property, and wealth accumulation.

    This is capitalism and libertarianism

justifies the use of state violence to safeguard property rights, over supporting ordinary people, which directly contradicts the promises of fairness and equality.

    This is capitalism and authoritarian

Part of the problem is that people have gotten lazy. I’d say the biggest advent of people losing touch with the actually tech is windows 7. It had everything at your fingertips. No need to look for drivers, little need for compatibility changes or added set up requirements. Couple that with nvidia automatically adjusting “best settings” for your rig on a per-game basis and you’ve got what we have now. People don’t want to learn and they’ve forgotten how we got here. Unfortunately, click and run seems to be the consumer de facto now and it isn’t going to go away.

  • I’ve been playing through Expedition 33 again now that it’s “Deck verified”. It’s a pretty rough experience out of the box, but with a mod, xess updates, and some tweaks it’s running well enough. I can at least parry properly now. My PC is having issues, so I’ve been using the deck docked as a replacement. With a monitor and KBM, Laysara has been an absolute pleasure to play. Runs very well, and it’s a great twist on a city builder IMHO.
