for anyone facing the same issue, putting this into my hyprland.conf file seems to have fixed it -

    force_zero_scaling = true
    use_nearest_neighbor = true
}

yes there is problems for sure, that metadata issue is one i shoulda touched on in the video. i do think things can improve though, and im a very optimistic person :P

im not sure xmpp is as ready for people coming from discord to move to it, but i also recognise that as much of a pain as its been in my experience, equally as much as with matrix, things can improve!
