Perhaps he could take a page out of the book of authors and publish a new game under a non-de-plume?

Granted all I did was a 1 second kagi search so there might be something floating out there. I do feel like if he made some kind of official statement, it’d be pretty big news though.
In the US? It’s not about prisoner rehabilitation and never has been.
Incarcerated workers are under the complete control of their employers, and they have been stripped of even the most minimal protections against labor exploitation and abuse.
Nationally, incarcerated workers produce more than $2 billion per year in goods and more than $9 billion per year in services for the maintenance of the prisons. https://www.aclu.org/news/human-rights/captive-labor-exploitation-of-incarcerated-workers
I agree that prisoners should be kept active, given opportunities to develop skills, and that setting them up for continued employment after incarceration is a good idea too, but there are better ways than what we’re doing right now.
I’m not sure piefed has crossposting, but feel free to do so yourself!

That way if I do let my subscription lapse, I can still access the content I already paid for.
In their heads what they’re actually saying is ‘moral rights.’ As in “I have a moral obligation to destroy trans kids.” Everything else is, as you said, a dog whistle. But if it’s a MORAL right, then it doesn’t matter what anyone else is doing because they are wrong and an enemy.
He’s pretty active on Bluesky if you want something bad but not AS bad to follow on.

Edit to add an excerpt:
This is not intelligence at work; this whole thing is essentially a melange of human-written stories that have been chewed into tiny chunks and then reassembled by an algorithm at the cost of an entire small nation’s power consumption.

I agree with OP, it’s not really age verification in the sense we’ve been seeing in the news, but it IS a step in the direction of following the letter of the law without intrusiveness.
other_cat@piefed.zipto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•RIP Discord: Self-Hosted Discord Alternatives Tested (TeamSpeak, Stoat, Fluxer, Matrix, & More)English3·23 days agoWelcome to self-hosting! I hope you have fun learning stuff. I’m still kind of on the lower-end of the intermediate scale myself, so I’m hoping they’ll be using dockers and docker-compose once the self-host docs are up.
Right now I do think it has screen share, but it doesn’t allow you to share audio at the same time (known bug). Bummer for me too.
I’m just glad that Discord pushed back their age verification stuff for at least a few months so there’s room for Stoat, Fluxer, etc to get some work done.
Agree that tumblr sucks, but if you can find a public instance of (or self-host) priviblur it’s much more tolerable.
other_cat@piefed.zipto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•RIP Discord: Self-Hosted Discord Alternatives Tested (TeamSpeak, Stoat, Fluxer, Matrix, & More)English2·23 days agoWhen did you last check the self-hosting documentation? I just poked my head into it and there’s a big post talking about why they’d rather people wait on self-hosting.
That said if you liked Fluxer but are not satisfied with it right now (which is completely understandable. It’s in beta, after all, not a finished product), I’d say check back in 2-3 months. I would bet that the self-hosting is ready to go by then, judging by the rate of how other things have been updating.
This definitely has been the narrative recently. Not just from Bland Altman but also from other billionaires it seems.
