AI is technology. An old man rambling about nonsense is not technology. If he was rambling about blueberry pie that wouldn’t make this a cooking article.

the million dollar question: is a cheesecake technically a pie?
calvin’s dad wouldn’t be upset by the number of linux derivatives. he’d be thrilled. a whole new world to be autistic about.
aww it’s a joke? I actually want this. I’m tired of being surprised by this crap.
nycki@lemmy.worldOPto Minecraft@lemmy.world•minecraft tas... without load skips?English1·6 months agoSure, but I feel like the “TAS” part needs a qualifier. Normally a TAS is the logical extreme of a human run. It’s like a player piano, it’s a script that could in principle be played on the real game.
But a real life runner versus a minecraft “TAS” wouldn’t be in the same ballpark, because the real life runner can’t magically skip all the load times. It just feels disingenuous to call this a TAS, unless there’s a way to real-time verify it.

its relevant and i was genuinely confused and arguing in good faith. i was wrong, and i accept that, but you don’t have to make up that it was “irrelevant.”
i want to believe this is the case, but if so, its poorly communicated.
I think its both. people with more money can afford more commissions, and people who’ve gotten more commissions are likely to be more specific about what they want.
The confusing thing here is, why don’t we see more billionares with lavishly-produced fetish porn? Where are all the million-dollar R-rated movies about people turning into balloon animals? Where are the full-length music videos about women who eat people whole?
The logical conclusion is: billionares have lavishly produced porn, but its all secret. And the epstein files are a… very unfortunate clue as to why billionare porn is secret :/
this is disrespectful as fuck. nsfw artists are never “just in it for the money.” everyone who’s tried that has hated it and quit.
the vast majority of nsfw artists enjoy what they do, and to suggest otherwise is puritan bullshit.
edit: to clarify, the message of this comic, as far as I can tell, is “sex is gross. nobody likes drawing sex. everyone who draws sex is being coerced financially.” and thats fucked up because 1) its not true, and 2) if it were true, it would imply that nsfw artists “deserve” all the bullshit they get from banks, from clients, and from other artists. porn is sex work, and sex work is hard work. if you just need the money, there’s like a hundred easier ways to get it that don’t involve porn. nobody chooses this path lightly, so don’t talk trash about them!
nycki@lemmy.worldto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Recommendations for Note taking app with simple needsEnglish1·6 months agocode editors might have the features you want, and its easy to repurpose a code editor into a notes app.
sync a folder between your devices (syncthing is great for this) and put markdown text files in it. I like to call this folder “Memo” since its like writing letters to myself.
edit the markdown using VS Code (desktop) or Carbon (android). I haven’t tested whether Carbon can do this, but I know in VS Code, you can reorder a list with keyboard shortcuts.
click anywhere on a line of text, then hold Alt and press Up arrow, and the text will swap places with the line above it.
edit: Syncthing and Carbon are open source. VS Code has some proprietary code added by Microsoft, but none of it is relevant to your use case, so you may prefer the fork called Codium.

i have no idea what you’re talking about :33
“You can now use Debian without Linux” is a misleading headline: should read “A small but growing number of experts can now use Debian without Linux.” Most of “us” probably cannot.
