I don’t know if you’re unaware or are just kidding, but I wanted to share this link about how watermelons are a symbol of Palestinian solidarity just in case: https://www.npr.org/2024/01/08/1222718339/why-watermelons-are-symbol-of-palestinian-solidarity

misterdoctor@lemmy.worldto /r/50501 Mirror@50501.chat•Is there anyone else out there that will never again thank a service person for his service as long as Trump sends National Guard against cities?English4·8 months ago100%. If I sat down with a veteran and they shared stories and I understood what they did and sacrificed and how it affected them, I think I would feel naturally compelled to show them gratitude. But I’m not the guy to go up to some random old dude at a casino buffet and thank him for his service just because he wore a hat that says he served. I don’t know him or his service record or anything. Blindly praising service members feels like the weird, jingoistic brand of patriotism, like the pledge of allegiance or singing the national anthem before a baseball game.
He’s absolutely the type of guy to use “1234” or “1111” as his passcode

The Movement Is Growing — and It’s No Longer a Joke351·8 months agoHasan’s reflexive response — please, no more reality hosts — came with one notable exception: “Unless Jon, you’re thinking of throwing your hat in the ring… we can talk about that.”
Stewart laughed. He didn’t deny it. He didn’t wave it off. He just leaned back, smiled, and chuckled — the kind of non-answer that fuels speculation.
You’re saying this is Jon Stewart explicitly implying that he’s considering a run?

One of the biggest pop culture fandoms on the planet is using their collective voice to speak out against the ongoing genocide in Palestine. That’s a pretty cool story as far as I’m concerned.

Is there a way to DDOS a phone number? Like a shitload of automated calls placed to a number over and over tying up their phone lines completely.
