You know, the thought has occurred to me that it’s not impossible some sort of international incident occurs due Iran’s 0:30 time zone difference.

I read that as “we agree to this ceasefire and will uphold it except in areas we don’t feel like it”. Perfectly on-brand for Israel.

I had assumed the part about “ending the war against all components of the Axis of Resistance” to include Lebanon.

I thought one of the points involved ceasing hostilities against the Axis of Resistance on all fronts, which I assume would include southern Lebanon, no?

If Trump did actually agree to these 10 points, then Katie bar the door because no way I believe the US will honor this and Trump is just saying yes to everything to buy time for an invasion.

But I also trust Iran, I think what they’ve accomplished over the last 5 weeks has earned our benefit of the doubt.

I for one am very thankful for our beautiful Democratic Party, which while all this craziness has entered a fever pitch, they have been loudly and boldly speaking out against this every minute of the day and not focusing on unimportant matters like trying to trash talk Hasan Piker and taking personal vacations to the beach.

People who are just now starting to see this are also expecting to see Europe stand up to Trump (because why would any sovereign nation take orders from Trump of all people), but instead are seeing him constantly taking shots at them and the Europeans just keep coming back asking for more, practically begging to be seen as Trump’s good little doggies. I see people confused at this at first but they’re starting to connect the dots I think.

I don’t disagree, I just happen to find the theory that the US really only entered the war not because of high ideals but because if France and the UK lost, then the US would be left holding the bag as they defaulted on their loans, to be very plausible.

But when you dig into the history of the US in the 20th and 21st centuries, you start to notice this isn’t just a “Trump” thing. Outside of WW1 and WW2 (though the US had spurious reasons for joining WW1), the US has been the bad guys in every other instance.

The US is the imperialist hegemon, Trump has just been more open about it.

My hunch is that the presence of the E-4B is more for the escalation of war rather than a nuclear strike. The idea is to keep the president / military leadership alive in a nuclear attack.

As far as I can tell the last time it was used was on 9/11/2001 (it was filmed circling DC but I don’t think W actually used it).

I think they’re bringing it in to make Trump feel like a big boy war commander. Gut says we’re gonna see a big escalation but not necessarily nukes.

The effort appears informal and unpaid, with engineers and STEM-trained users sharing tactics, simulations, and breakdowns of U.S. systems — including mapping U.S. military sites, outlining missile strategies targeting aircraft carriers in the Persian Gulf, and modeling defenses against a potential U.S. landing on Iran’s Kharg Island oil terminal. Some content has gone viral, including tutorials on targeting advanced platforms like the F-35.

On March 14, a video by an account called “Laohu Talks World,” subtitled in Persian, outlined how Iran could use low-cost systems to target an F-35, drawing tens of millions of views. Five days later, Iran claimed it had struck a U.S. F-35.

The creator studied at Northwestern Polytechnical University, a major Chinese defense research institution. “He is not short of money. He makes videos just for fun,” a source told the Post.

It would appear that posting is indeed praxis…

A couple important caveats:

That clip is not from Fox News. It’s from a local FOX affiliate that may or may not share the views of Fox News (I don’t believe they are the same company at all). If you’re not American I’m not really sure how to explain the difference.

Also the context of the quote indicates the guest is talking about a dozen generals in total under Hegseth/Trump and cites someone who was purged a while ago, there’s no indication any other top positions have been purged in the present other than the 3 today.

I feel like I need to re-read The Eighteenth Brumaire again, it’s been a while. There were some comparisons between Trump and Louis Bonaparte in his first admin but it didn’t really seem to line up all that well, it felt a bit like a lazy comparison. But the point is Bonaparte eventually got the bourgeoisie to get in line behind him despite his incompetency, so maybe the comparison to Trump is more apt now than it was back during Trump 1.

Thank you everyone for the ideas. Based on these suggestions, I will likely go with hanging the bike on a couple hooks by the frame, then cover it with a tarp that does a reasonably good job covering it up without being too bulky.

In addition to what others have said, you have to run very large, very persistent trade deficits for your currency to become a reserve currency (in addition to obviously needing to be a highly stable currency). Of the only currency issuers that could potentially fill reserve currency role (US, EU, China), only the US is interested in persistent trade deficits in order to pump the globe full of their currency.

Americans look around at all the cheap commodities around them and think “yes, capitalism is the best system for organizing an economy”. What they don’t realize is just how much this lifestyle has been the direct result of exploitation of workers and resources in the global south, destruction of the environment, consuming at a level ~5x what the earth can sustain, not to mention US dollar hegemony and a military with 800+ bases around the world that can impose the will of capital (which realizes cheap stuff is needed to pay off the working class in the global north. When capital is no longer able to maintain this, I genuine believe workers will question this whole “capitalism is the best system ever” thing.
