On the other hand, most democracies come from military coups. All the recent coups leading to authoritarianism come from the CIA or Kremlin or Islamism. After the cold war more coups led to democracy afain. If the US has an internal coup now it’ll be more likely one of those, I’d think.

The problem is false negatives. Positive reports would still be reviewed before treatment.
AI already has less false negatives than humans. Both together is optimal but at some point you need to prioritize. A doctor looking at scans could in stead be treating a patient.

ML was huge in B2B and still going steady. Not “SVMs as a service”, but you bet sales teams were letting everybody know that their solutions learn. You can find loads of conference material about “why ML is better than AI” from a decade ago. They pivoted to calling it AI again of course, even if the product didn’t change.
