Purple_drink@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's the dumbest/silliest reason you got in trouble for in school?6·3 months agoI got in trouble for doing homework at school. Homework is supposed to be done at Home, not at school, I was told.
Purple_drink@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Would you rather eat a totato (potato that tastes like a tomato) or a pomato (tomato that tastes like a potato)?9·3 months agoAbsolutely. There’s no real use for the opposite.

There’s a cool video that talks about that title screen - how it was quite a feat to get that large image to load. They had to deploy a bunch of tricks to make it work. Love that image, and the game of course is one of my favorites of all time. Thanks for the upload!
I majored in Philosophy and am now a commercial HVAC mechanic. 🤷
I enjoyed this series. Some cool concepts, I really like the trisolarian technologies. Like the description of the probe and sophons.

Purple_drink@lemmy.worldto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Are most people here left-wing?5·1 year agoI only know because I interned there and it’s something they talked about. Maybe it was always preceded with ‘civil’ I just don’t remember that as well. The big issue amongst the workers when I was there was that in principle they supported Citizens United, and most of the employees did not support it in practice.
Just adding my experience to the topic, not sure why I got down voted for it. I’m not trying to push anyone to be libertarian just pointing out other ways the definition can be used.
Purple_drink@lemmy.worldto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Are most people here left-wing?63·1 year agoI would like to throw out there that the ACLU is a libertarian organization that would likely line up with the majority of the beliefs of Lemmy users. With that said I understand most people aren’t using libertarian in its ‘correct’ meaning as the ACLU does.

Purple_drink@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Do you have any recommendations for good budget wireless earbuds?5·2 years agoI have the soundcore liberty air 2. They have good sound quality and fit the bill for what you’re looking for. Looks like $30 on Amazon. That said, I do need to push them in occasionally while exercising but I haven’t experienced earbuds where I don’t have to do that.
Purple_drink@lemmy.worldto Cyberpunk@lemmy.zip•What's your favorite depiction of cyberspace?3·2 years agoI like the book Hyperion’s description. Kinda reminds me of how that Hackers depiction looks, except more massive and there are AIs (and other intelligences and processes) roaming around, enforcing rules, running algorithms.
That picture is so intense
