I always think about visiting due to the amazing natural and historical areas but simultaneously, how much I don’t want to visit due to other issues.

JakeBacon@lemm.eeto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How often do you use "AI" to reply to your messages, if at all?3·2 年前I’ll use the preset responses sometime for Google but that’s as far as it goes. It’s very cool that you’ve found a way to help your anxiety by using it though.
JakeBacon@lemm.eeto World News@beehaw.org•Netanyahu declares holy war against Gaza, citing the Bible6·2 年前Funnily enough (not funny actually, considering the war crimes and all), the Old Testament says that the Jews/Isrealites will never get rid of other people living in the area due to not driving them out in their original conquest.
JakeBacon@lemm.eeto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Is there any christian religions that don't believe in space?1·2 年前Interesting, I’ve not heard of this shell of ice, and I believe in a young earth. I have heard though of a similar hypothesis based in Genesis 2:5-6 which proposes that it did not rain before Noah’s flood and that plants were kept watered by a heavy mist and/or extremely humid atmosphere. Acoording to this idea, that excess water in the air and ground would’ve been all condensed by God as part of the flood.
I’m not sure I entirely agree with the hypothesis, and I do not believe it is essential biblical knowledge so I don’t concern myself with it, but I have heard it before.
JakeBacon@lemm.eeto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Is there any christian religions that don't believe in space?204·2 年前I agree with others, this seems like a flat-earther belief that has gotten mixed with Christianity’s creation story.
I’ve heard of it before while browsing the internet, but not from any Christians I personally know. All the Christians I interact with (myself included) believe in a literal interpretation of the creation but nobe of us believe in a physical firmament. I will note that a single man I know denies the moon landing (for reasons I haven’t bothered to ask) but even he still believes in a spherical earth and heliocentric orbit.
My understanding of Genesis 1:6-8 is that the firmament mentioned is the earth’s sky or atmosphere itself, and not a physical barrier at the edge of the atmosphere. The easiest way to show this would be Genesis 1:20 where birds are described as “flying in the firmament of heaven”. If the firmament was a solid object, birds could not fly in it.

JakeBacon@lemm.eeto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What’s a company that objectively improved after it got “bought out?”11214·3 年前Minecraft maybe? I would say at the minimum it’s a net neutral but considering how far off the deep end Notch is now I imagine it was a good thing.

JakeBacon@lemm.eeOPto League of Legends@lemmy.world•Incoming changes (Mostly Toplaners), courtesy of Spideraxe1·3 年前Edited my title because I realize it implied that Phreak was behind the changes (which is possible, but noone has said it yet).
Anyway. No, i haven’t seen any talk from any devs as to why the changes are being made. I assume Phreak will talk about it in his usual patch rundown whenever these changes hit live but I don’t know how many of those changes are actually his.
JakeBacon@lemm.eeto Warframe@dormi.zone•r/Warframe will reopen on June 21st. - Subreddit discussion megathreadEnglish0·3 年前reopening in a restricted form
What are we talking about here? Will it be a protest similar to r/steam or r/pics, a restriction on who can post/comment, or something else entirely?
I do this too, but thankfully I’ve also managed to break my day in half so it’s no longer “can’t do anything all day” but “can’t do anything else this morning until this” and “can’t do anything after lunch until this”.

JakeBacon@lemm.eeto MTG@mtgzone.com•Rules question about Hardened Scales + Ozolith, the Shattered Spire2·3 年前If one or more +1/+1 counters would be put on a creature you control, that many plus one +1/+1 counters are put on it instead.
It’s a replacement effect, adding one more counter to the existing effect, not creating a new effect that adds an additional counter. Keywords here are “if” and “instead”.
TL;DR - 3 Counters, not 4
Yes, the intention is to move him back out of support and back into mid lane although there is a possibility to see him APC like Ziggs/Karthus as well.
I personally play both support and mid but I much prefer playing Xerath in the midlane so I’m quite happy about these changes.

JakeBacon@lemm.eeto Magic: The Gathering@lemmy.ml•What do you think of "The Ring Tempts You" mechanic?English1·3 年前The mechanic is very nice flavor-wise and fine as a mechanic but it doesn’t scratch any of my MTG itches. I’m a fan of combos and engines, and the mechanic does not lend itself well to that play style.
I’m enjoying myself, my only complaint is that the early game is still rough. If you get unlucky with gear life gets much harder.
Also, some skills seem like they’re not functioning properly. I tried detonating thunder lances with the spear leap and stacking 3 of them with barrage did like 1/2 the hp of a white mob even though it’s supposed to be 3x 235% attack damage + the damage of the leap itself.
Right now on my coop character I’m running primal strikes as my main damage output, using voltaic mark and lightning Spear to proc shock. My solo character is a thorns build with shield charge and resonating shield. Both characters are doing perfectly fine. My friend running cold tornados is definitely stronger in the coop run though and the other friend running artillery ballista is also doing well.
