Boomer today is used for anything thatās old, and I wouldnāt be surprised if you get Gen Xers that get called boomers. Since boomer shooters are a homage to old shooters, we call them boomer shooter. The ultimate problem is that itās just catchy, so unless you find a more catchy term, youāre shit outta luck.

So far itās media analysis, but the only goal I have is āAnything that is interesting and I want to make a video about itā. I like delving into topics and if I think that it could fit then Iāll make a video about it. Iām not looking to make a living with my channel or get big doing it, I do it for the sake of doing it. :]
Currently Iām working on a video about the Mirrorās Edge sequel; Catalyst, and why its shallow world hit me so much harder than the equally shallow world of the original game. Working title is Mirrorās Edge Catalyst and empty worlds
Grzmot@beehaw.orgto Free and Open Source Software@beehaw.orgā¢Discordās secret weapon against open source competitors (itās PluralKit)13Ā·2 years agoYou are certainly not wrong, but I think even if you add up all people with multiple personalities + their friends willing to stick with Discord due to Pluralkit, I would be very surprised if youād be within less than 4 digits after the comma percentage-wise.
I think @Kangie was mostly responding to the clickbaity title of it being Discordās āsecret weaponā to keep everyone on the platform when no, it just would not matter. Itās like Mastodon and Twitter. The people who really, truly care are already on Mastodon and the rest is where the biggest community is.

Gabe Newellās quote from 13 years ago will never not be relevant in such discussions:
Spotify, Netflix (in itās earlier days) have shown that time and time again. People love convenience. We are ultimately lazy animals. I think if you created a streaming service tailored to really old, obscure shit and you gave it a reasonable price, people would buy it.
