This is a move in the right direction, but universally free bus travel would be much better. Bus networks become considerably more efficient when you remove all of the dwell time at stops caused by having to take fairs/check tickets/passes

Yeah, ‘decline’ would be a better choice of word there
It’s a project to build a database of things that can be used to determine your location in the absence of GPS. E.g. if you know the locations of some wireless access points that your laptop can see, you can make an educated guess as to where you are. BeaconDB is a user contributed database of this information, to rival the closed services offered by commercial companies (like Google and Apple).
BeaconDB attempts to do all of this in a privacy preserving way.
The antenna that comes with the heltec v3 isn’t very good, you can get much better range even with a cheap antenna. I got an ilabs one for £5 and can reach nodes a about 5km away (I am part way up a hill though)
If you’re using X, then the GTK equivalent environment variable is GDK_SCALE. (I don’t think the Wayland backend does this though)
E.g.
GDK_SCALE=2 gedit

Solar panels allow for a drastic increase in biodiversity over crop monocultures. It’s an improvement on the metrics you care about as well as in energy production.

UK electricity demand is down 20% since 2012, and continuing on a downward trend.
Changes away from more polluting energy sources to meet this reduced demand is a good thing.

Just to clarify, NextCloud aren’t forking LibreOffice, they’re forking OnlyOffice. They’re two very different projects (OnlyOffice is a web based office suite, whereas LibreOffice is primarily desktop based, although there is work on making a web version)
