I am guessing that the next version of Windows will require a valid credit card number while being set up. That way Copilot can purchase and install other Microsoft products for you automatically in order to complete tasks it thinks you assigned it. Your acceptance of the EULA will be all the justification they need.

I used to make low 6 figures. Work owned me. I had to be reachable nights, weekends, holidays, vacations. 50 hour weeks were slow weeks. I finally walked away. Money is no good if you don’t have time to enjoy it. I make half of what I used to make but am much happier. I actually get to spend time with my wife, hobbies, and friends.

Doesn’t Tiny Core load into RAM? With 512 MB that could be a problem. There are many versions of Puppy Linux. I think they load into RAM also. I would try MX Linux and see if that worked. Expanding the amount of RAM would be helpful, but it is not worth spending money on that machine. I bought a functioning Fujitsu laptop with a 6th gen Core i5 Processor and 8 GB RAM for $80 on Ebay. Computers with a 7th gen Intel Core Processor or older won’t officially run Windows 11 so they are selling for cheap these days, if you shop around.

Not satisfied with the responsiveness of HA on a pi. I used an old Intel NUC. Not as energy efficient, but everything is instantaneous. Good stuff.
Or, just build it with Home Assistant and compatible hardware.

NEVER use biometric unlock! You can legally be compelled to provide biometric unlock, you cannot be legally compelled to give PIN/passwords.
Jokes on them! My company made everyone remote during COVID. It worked so well that they sold the corporate office buildings. We are all remote permanently! As long as I work my scheduled hours, they don’t care where in the world I am.
I am forced to use Windows on my work computer, but that is ONLY used for official work related functions. My personal PCs (I have several) all run various flavors of Linux. Monday through Friday I am reminded why I don’t have Windows on my personal machines.
