The same thing happened to music when GarageBand and similar tools lowered the effort required to produce quality tracks. It took power away from the old gatekeepers and gave it to people with ideas but not traditional access. AI is doing that to software now.

And if it is, yeah I’d argue they’re doing something wrong in their decisions. One could mow a few lawns and have enough cash to keep up with the modern requirements of an OS.

Even with current market prices.

You’re absolutely right, and the vast majority of people on this platform seem to get offended by anything AI related. Software engineers have been reviewing code made by other people since the dawn of the craft. Guess what y’all, AI generated code looks exactly the same, if not better on the first pass at creating a thing.
Down vote me all you want homies. You’re living in a fantasy if you think all AI is slop. Sure, I can see how it’s ruining some content on the Internet, but for code related tasks, its going to dramatically change the world for the better.

If I’m understanding it correctly, they would be able to use their state provided drivers license for identification. Is that not the case?
Ohi@lemmy.worldto PC Gaming@lemmy.ca•@steamdb.info "Players have been asking for the ability to filter out games made with Gen AI. We've added an automatic tag on SteamDB based on the AI gen content disclosures on the store pages."English1515·1 year agoSame here. Everyone complaining about AI in game development have no idea how hard indie devs have it. We desperately want to make a quality product and work our asses off doing so. We’re working full time jobs for ‘The Man’ to fund it out of pocket, so every cent saved by using AI Gen is value being added elsewhere. Building games is really freakin’ hard folks. The dream is to have a studio of artist making content, but that’s literally impossible given my pay grade. It’s truly a shame to see the gaming community rally against tooling that helps us indie devs make our dream a reality.

So that would mean conception is in fact when this gets decided, no? What am I missing here?
You plant shit seeds, you get shit weeds. I hate the fact that Reddit has grown since I bailed over for API changes. It hurts my soul knowing I did the right thing and bailed but the vast majority of people who were pissed off at Reddit ended up back on the platform.
I’m going to NY next week and really appreciate the reminder to go eat at Katz again. 🤤

Planned obsolescence at play here 😢 https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Planned_obsolescence
The luxuries that come from anything with a battery are great, but everything running a lithium-ion battery has its days numbered, and that’s really unfortunate for the consumer and absolutely stellar for the business.
