Really love the manga so I was excited for the show.

I’m a bit concerned that the pacing of the TV show is a bit slow and would have preferred that the Mother/Daughter interaction was handled a little bit more abridged compared to the manga. Comic pacing can generally be a bit more punctual despite covering a lot more due to pacing being “flexible” based on reader engagement, if that makes sense.

Overall though a very faithful adaptation. But I do worry that some people might bounce off the show if it doesn’t “get to the point” fast enough, I’ve seen people seemingly thinking this will be a magical girl slice of life show and it definitely isn’t that…

Also, I mean, if people don’t like it they don’t have to use bluseky to use the app you’ve made.🤷‍♀️ It doesn’t really change that some people out there might like to use both.

It’s really rare for me to opt into getting a tub of it, as often I’m getting that for multiple guests or whatever, and forcing mint chocolate chip on everyone in that circumstance feels like forcing Hawaiian pizza on others at a party. So when I’m getting a scoop in store, it’s like “now’s my chance!”

How will this be achieved? I’d be curious to see if a really rudimentary estimation is used based on GPU benchmarks internally (like an estimation kernel trained of Valve’s internal benchmarking of machines against the steam machine, for example.)

Makes you wonder what they’re going to do with all this hardware they’re buying? I hope that they (the ultra rich) are the ones to hold the bag for once in their lives.

It works really well through wine. It’s a little setup but it isn’t too bad imo.

Thankfully there are still some games that have custom server support, but they’re mostly in the open source space.

I really agree that, with the way gaming has gone, custom servers are going to be a necessity. The only problem is that people generally like the consistency and usability of match-making services which would also need to be open sourced, but I think there are probably clever ways to design around this (for example, servers belong to tags and users have to opt-in and opt-out of tags, and game master server lists are responsible for administering these tags.)

I couldn’t believe how many people bought that Harry Potter game that came out like 2 years ago. Not only was the game shitty looking ubishlock, but also we’ve known for years just how f***ed up jk rowling is as a person.

Having said that, as I child I remember protesting against the school trying to encourage me to buy Harry Potter at the school book faire. I get now that they were only trying to encourage me to read by suggesting a popular book, but I really didn’t like the cult-like obsession around this book even as a kid, so I’ve had bad vibes around the book series since the very-late 90s lol.

Jeans, yes definitely. The material is pretty thick and it’s a good way to ensure it’s clean. Also, it prevents the metal parts from bashing the inside of the washing machine.

I’m not actually positive it’s better for cleaning, but it’s just how my mother taught me how to do laundry when I was a child. :)

The idea it went up because Trump lied about “peace talks” when it was clearly (and obviously) fictitious is the crazy part. Hard to believe a bunch of people over the age of 20 decided that they could start a war and end a war under their own terms, despite an entire history of mankind proving otherwise.

How have people felt about this show, long term?

I’ve been putting off watching it because I’m super into the old show and not sure this can live up – but maybe I’m willing to give it a shot as the old show definitely had it’s fair share of problems compared to the original manga release.

Yeah, it’s a bit like this sometimes. One good thing about packs though is that you know that the colors mix well together. The only thing to watch out for are packs that are designed specifically for scene painting as they tend to veer a little too much into the greens (which makes sense, as accuracy in that area for painting is really important.)

You should also look into steam input, where most games can have gryo remapped to joystick like inputs. I’ve done this in Ring Racers but I don’t personally use this feature so Im not sure how adequate it is.

6 year old is a bit of a tough territory here for anime recommendations, stuff like Rumiko Takahashi works (Ranma 1/2 and Inuyasha) almost seem like they’d be fine but they probably tackle slightly too mature subject matter and would be better in early teens age.

This is a bit of an old school recommendation, but you might enjoy checking out the original Astroboy, old Tatsunoko shows and stuff like that. The older anime tends to skew a little less “mature”. However, sensibilities of what is ok for kids in America vs Japan always makes this difficult. For example, Detective Conan is a great kids anime by Japanese standards, but talking about murders and kidnappings might be a little much by American standards. So YMMV.

Obviously Pokemon is a good suggestion here. The original Digimon Movies are also pretty good and are done by a great director (Mamoru Hosoda) so you might like to check it out.

This feels like a way for them to say fuck generative AI, but also, hey investors, don’t pull out we can find something else to do with it I guess…

Ultimately, if you’re a publicly traded company, the calls to “use AI and use it now” are too strong for tech companies to completely ignore, so it’s at least good that they’re drawing a line from an ethical and artistic standpoint. Once the bubble pops, they can probably take a “I told you so” victory lap.
