half of lost media stories are solved by a guy realizing they have the relevant information on an old laptop somewhere and hadn’t known it was a big deal until now, but there’s a surprisingly number of cases where the situation unfolds to reveal there’s an anonymous ring of like five discord users who eradicate any investigators/archivists that cross their paths with arcane legalese and will randomly approach a Chosen One once per decade to interrogate whether or not they Deserve to be shown a screenshare of a file they’ve been gaping at in secret since 2004 like it’s the Necronomicon and not the pilot episode of a french-canadian nick jr tv show known as “The Adventures of Biscuit the Cat in Doowopsville”
Cookie’s Bustle seems very authentic to the experience of being with a real-life five year-old in a typical Anglocentric Western country in that even when they are adorable they are often complaining that they are hungry and tired just as you’re doing the thing you both went outside to do and they’ll probably just die at any second of it
Where the parts about being dying in various ways, watching guys get shot by a helicopter after they blew up a bus, and aliens being everywhere fit in is up to interpretation
I doubt it’s even possible- between RODIK being long dead and the people currently squatting on the rights reportedly being very difficult to contact, the options for them being able to reach out to somebody and actually get it done look pretty grim. But you can vote to show interest in Cookie’s Bustle coming to GOG, beacon of video game preservation, through their Dreamlist feature here:
