Karko

Karko

The Karko is a tribe living in nine villages in Dilling county, of the Nuba Mountains in the state of South Kordofan, Sudan. They have no schools or health care facilities. They have their own language, Karko, but there are also Arabized Karko whose primary language is Sudanese Arabic. They live on a simple diet from the sorghum and corn they grow, as well as beef, mutton, and goat from the livestock they raise.

Ministry Obstacles

The Karko are Muslims who are still waiting for someone to explain Christ's redemption.

Scripture Focus

"But when they rose early on the next morning, behold, Dagon had fallen face downward on the ground before the ark of the LORD, and the head of Dagon and both his hands were lying cut off on the threshold. Only the trunk of Dagon was left to him."  1 Samuel 5:4

Scripture Prayer

Pray that many from this people group will understand that their gods have failed them, but God never fails!

Prayer Focus

Ask the Lord to give Karko family leaders dreams of the holy and risen Christ, and that they will share their dreams with many others. Pray that these dreams will prompt them to seek out believers who can help them understand those dreams. Ask the Lord to send loving and dedicated workers to the Karko, so there will soon come a day when Karko disciples will make more disciples.
