Am I the only one that cant bring themselves to be cruel to Asterion? Is there even anything worth seeing being a cruel Master?

A) no you are not, a lot of the player base struggles with that.

B) that's not what that route is truly about.

C) it's well worth going through it, as you learn more things about the lore and one of the characters, and it's a shame that y'all can't stomach to just try it out.

Well as the "Master" says "Its just not in my nature to do that". I guess Ill miss out on a bit of lore if it means I can maintain my good boy status.

you only have to send him to the valley once. you don't actually take actions to hurt him

Ahh ok that part ok.

I can understand your hesitation about be cruel, because i did promise him that i would not send him to the valley. and if i break that promise then how could i possibly be any better than the other masters.

In a pos-undertale world i can understand why some people find it difficult to just dissociate from the characters and do bad things to them for the sake of the lore, especially in a medium that allows and incentivizes you to identify with a character in a story that has agency over other characters as if they’re real people. BUT The merciless route is almost a “what if” in its scope and it gives so much lore and character development it’s worth reminding yourself that Asterion is, for all intents and purposes, living the life with a good master one save slot away

i know right. really unfortunate people would deprive themselves from this.  it makes the whole game better when you get to see what is really at stake play out.

something something reward isn't worth the cost.
