Are you playing in an incognito/private browser tab? That can sometimes interfere with your browser's local storage. The next update (which I'm very close to finishing now) changes saves to use IndexedDB instead, which might help.

Just a code editor (VS Code) and HTML, CSS & Javascript.

Yes, I'll include that in the update. :)

I don't have a Patreon, but thank you (& all who upvoted you) for being willing to support me in that way!

Once I've finished the polishing update (sorry that it's taking so long), I'll close the poll, and whatever is on top at that moment in time will be what I work on next.

Looks like Jobs & Home has pulled ahead again, but it's definitely a very close race!

It is possible to persuade your feeder to use the Metabolic Regression Device on you, giving you an escape route out of the facility.

Thank you! I'm glad you think so highly of my game. :)

You're right that player WG has made development significantly more complex. That trend'll only continue with all the other features I plan to add.

With the narrative endpoint, what I'll do is add a message similar to when a girl reaches that stage, letting the player know they've reached the end of the visible changes.

Also, you're in luck. In the update I'm working on at the moment, I've created a system that lets the NPC feeders run the Dizzy's shop. They'll invite you there & you'll be able to experience Dizzy's addiction for yourself!

I don't have any plans to monetise the game, but if anyone did wish to show their support in that way, feel free to check out my weight gain stories on Amazon.

Thank you for checking in and continuing to support me & my game. :)

That's a great idea and would add a lot of depth to the shop. I'll include it in the jobs update as you've suggested.

I'm really eager to get this polishing update finished, close the poll and start working on something new now. It's probably ended up being as large as one of my previous major updates, but I do think everything in it needed to be done before I can move on. I think I can see the light at the end of the tunnel now!

My logic was that the first jumps in the obesity rate are from the low-hanging fruit; the population that is most susceptible to becoming addicted and fattened by Dizzy's. As time goes on and the number of people who remain slim becomes a minority, those left are the more health-conscious, fitness-focussed types that are harder to corrupt. Especially when it becomes common knowledge how addictive and fattening Dizzy's is.

In a future update, I'll be expanding on this with the addition of an anti-obesity organisation fighting back against Dizzy's. You'll be able to lower the obesity rates, if you so desire, by working for this organisation, or you can work with Dizzy's to fatten it out of existence.

The national obesity rate increases have diminishing returns. I'll be making this less punishing at the upper reaches (where you're at) in the next update, so I recommend holding off on this for now.

The national rate is solely based on number of towns obesified.

Sorry, I missed that one. I've switched saving over from Local Storage to Indexed DB, which removes the 5MB limit and will allow you to make as many saves as you like (once I've released the update I'm working on). I'll include the total number of towns on the save files. :)

In the update I'm finishing up at the moment, I've switched saving from Local Storage to Indexed DB, which will remove the 5MB limit and allow you to have as many saves as you like. I'm going to try and get this released as soon as I can!

Thank you so much!

Watch this space, feeding the feeders will be coming soon. :)

I agree, I think some environmental interaction would help make the size of the girls feel more real and consequential. It's definitely something I'll be including in a future update.

Many thanks for reporting that bug too, I'll get that fixed!

I'll definitely take a look at making the game more mod-friendly and add some official support for that later down the line.

Correlating stomach capacity with height is something I'd like to do too, at least for the eating competition, etc.

Good idea regarding adding them as a phone contact. That would help make fattening them feel less grindy.

They don't currently have any of the advanced relationship stuff normal girls have. I can sort this out in the Jobs & Home update!

No problem! Thanks again, everyone, for all your feedback, suggestions & bug reports. They're really useful to help me make Second Helpings the best it can be.

Sure, I can include these in the 'More Personalities' update.

That makes sense to be able to manage all your Dizzy's locations from one menu and receive the income for them all. I've added that to my to-do list.

When your town hits the 99% obesity mark, it'll be considered 'obesified', and you'll unlock the New Game Plus mode that lets you travel to a fresh town. Each time you do this, the national obesity rate increases, which will make new towns fatter to begin with and will change the news reports. I'll be expanding on this system a lot more in a future update.

The good news is that I have a completed divorce system set up in the new version I'm currently working on. Hopefully it won't be too much longer before I can release it! (still ironing out fattening feeders, which adds a lot of extra complexity to the logic)

I may add some more sound effects in the future (beyond the phone ringtone currently in the game). Pictures aren't on the table at the moment, unfortunately. Creating them isn't my strong suit & by making the game text-only, I'm free to add whatever I like with no limits.

That's a popular request and something I will likely add in some form eventually. As there will be lots of new dialogue required, I'll probably add this option for the most popular personalities first (and probably just to make them feedees to begin with).

Perhaps when I get around to the 'More Personalities' update option from my poll, I could include, say, three of the personalities and do another poll to identify which they will be.

I'm glad you like the obesity rate stuff! I'll be adding a lot more in this vein when I add London as an explorable area. That update will include Dizzy's missions to fatten up target politicians, journalists, anti-obesity activists, etc., who are making life difficult for them. You'll also see the impact of the national rate in London.

Although I probably won't make it possible to date Christina or Isabel (they're actually both characters from one of my weight gain stories), I'll definitely add the ability to date (and fatten) similar politicians fretting about how fat the UK is getting!

I looked into this saving issue a few days ago, and I believe having a separate save for each town, for each player character, is a big reason it occurred.

The local storage limit for your browser is 5MB. As each save contains the entire game data, including all girls in all towns for that particular player character, that data is then repeated for each separate town save. So if you have multiple player characters and lots of towns for each, this quickly adds up to a lot of duplicated data that eats up the 5MB limit.

I've added some functions to compress save data, which should allow many more saves, but I think your idea about limiting save slots & including the town info in the saved games screen would also help.

What do you think about limiting each player character to three manual saves and one autosave, with the option to choose which save slot you overwrite when saving manually? I could also add a button that shows the same info as is on the travel menu to the save screen, as you've suggested.

Glad you're enjoying it & sorry the dates with the feeder girl were a letdown!

Right now, it's not actually possible for the feeders to gain weight at all; they exist solely to fatten the player as much as possible. Resistance chance is based on your affection level.

That's changing very soon, though. I've been working on an update since Christmas to improve the new features I added in the last big release & it's drawing close to being finished now. Many of those improvements are to feeder girls, including retuning resistance chance, a player appetite system that impacts this & the ability to fatten up the feeders. It'll be entirely possible for their efforts to completely backfire & (with enough cardio/weight loss medication) for you to stay slim whilst they are fattened up into extreme obesity!

Thank you! I'll be expanding the facility when I release the future Dizzy's & London update, so you may well see some of what you'd like in that update. :)

Sure! I'll make it possible to fatten her up in the Dizzy's London update. :)

If you're on Windows, MacOS or Linux, then I recommend the official itch.io app (https://itch.io/app). This will let you download the game, run it offline & also automatically keep your local version updated.

I'm really sorry to hear your save was lost, especially when you were just 1% off the 99% obesity mark! :(

Saves are retained in your browser's local storage, so if you've accessed the game in a new way, for example a different browser or device, then you might be able to recover the lost save if you go back to your original settings. Unfortunately, if your browser data was removed (such as through clearing browser history or using a private/incognito window), then the save is gone for good!

You can make a backup of your saves & transfer them between browsers/devices by using the Export Data feature, found in Extras in the main menu. I'll add a warning about this in the next update I release.

Your fiancée should move with you, but the other girls will all remain in the old town.

You can travel back at any time, but your partner won't return with you, she'll only follow you to new towns. That's something I'm looking to change very soon.

You can find those by exploring the facility.

Just the changes to Local News & the news on TV.

You can use the Dizzy's Delightful Doughnuts feeder upgrade to raise the town's obesity rate. Once it's at 99%, you can move to a new town. Each time you do so, the UK obesity rate will rise, making each new town fatter than the last (amongst other effects).

Thanks for the motivation! I'll be spending lots more time working on the game soon, which'll help speed up development.

Glad you like it! As it happens, I've been considering adding the ability to create a player profile even with Player WG turned off.

My intent behind new towns was to act as a New Game Plus, so the 99% obesity rate requirement was just a way of measuring completion to unlock this.

I can certainly look at changing this in the future, when I start expanding how the obesity rates function.

Thank you both for your great suggestions.

As part of the upcoming polishing update, I've added an upgrade that lets you see a girl's personality in the phone contact screen and other girl lists. I'll expand it to notify you if a new girl you meet has a personality you've already encountered (as suggested).

Good spot with this. I think what I'll do is place a cap on the amount of XP that can be earned from a single feeding session.

Many thanks for this report. I'll see if I can work something out to allow more saved games to be stored in the browser. Thanks too for playing the game enough to run into this issue!
