Would you be able to upload the PNG image you used for the icon? That way I can see what’s going wrong there.
Sure, here it is below:
Hi Kenney! I’ve played around with some of the features of the launcher (mainly the PNG to ICO and the Store Assets generator) and I wanted to give some feedback on them:
The PNG to ICO don’t seem to work very well with me, as you can see in the screenshot below I used the community icon of a previous Steam project of mine to test it and it came completely messed up (I tried with all the resolution options, just the default ones, and it all gives the same result just at different sizes):
As for the Store Assets:
Thanks for the response and the suggestions!
About the goal and the theme:
If you want a more deep view on what I said, I recommend you to watch Nerrel’s video on the Metroid series (and why before Dread’s release the series was going downhill and then back up). In the first part of the video he goes on more detail on the points I talked
I disagree with this (not platformer = not metroidvania) point of view.
The main core of Metroidvanias are the focus on progression through power-ups, exploration (both of these are the factors responsible on the backtracking in the genre) and atmosphere. That doesn’t mean there is a need for jumping (most metroidvanias do as a platformer mainly because the genre was popularized with that kind of view). There is no better example to this point of view than Metroid Prime (mainly the first one). Even tough it’s not a platfomer (but rather an FPS), it still is a Metroidvania because it has those points as their focus.
So if your game has those points as the pillars for the gameplay, you can do whatever style of controls as you want and it will be a metroidvania.
Do some human/animal failed mutant experiments counts as gore visuals? Something that can clearly be recognized as a mutated human/hybrid animal, but failed (Something a bit like the Zombie Researchers from Metroid Fusion). Also it’s on a pixel art style (I’m going for something around 32x32 for the sprite size), if this affects anything on the judgement
Hello. I recently decided to select one of my games to be my first game with minimum price on itch.io. To test if I set it up correctly, I asked my father to buy the game, but he can’t finish the buying operation.
He goes with the card method (since he doesn’t have Paypal) and, according to itch.io’s documentation on how buying works, after he entered all informations he should be brought to the download page, but that doesn’t happen. Am I missing something that needs to be done?
P.S.: I’ve tagged as “Question” the topic because I didn’t know if I need to mark as “Question” or as “Bug”.
The idea of the game is that you need to separate what news should be added in a retrospective and what shouldn’t br added. We based all the news from real life occassions that happened during 2020 so far, so for example, the missing actrees isn’t more important to put in a retrospective then the almost start of WW3

A little game maded by me and 2 friends of mine, based on the Plato's Allegory of the Cave.
In Full of Thoughts, there’s a guy, Tim, who’s got a head full of thoughts and has no room for all those messy thoughts. It is your duty to organize Tim’s brain by dragging with the mouse the icon of thought to its corresponding correspondent. Try to do this in the shortest possible time!
