Sometimes a person is faced with a choice: betray themselves or betray their interests. In such situations, everyone decides for themselves what they are willing to sacrifice, but it is always difficult. When the choice is between "risking myself for my interests" and "sacrificing my interests for safety," it's hard for me to choose. I don't know what I'm going to get, but I can see what I'm going to lose, and that's the biggest problem.
But how can you refuse such cuties?
Of course, I understand that Annie's inability to talk to other souls was leaked for no reason. But despite the fact that Maeve was not sure at the first meeting that Arthur would be humanoid, it still suggests that men are at least alien to this world. And that's the whole point of the game, that Arthur is the only male in the magical world, you can't just merge that.
Then I'll also put forward my theory: "Where the dragons live"
My theory is that women live on a vast continent surrounded by an ocean, believing that this is the whole world. But in fact, on the other side of the planet there is the same continent where only men live, also unaware of the existence of women. And in the core of the planet, hollow creatures called "dragons" live, preventing the inhabitants of the continents from learning about each other and feeding on donations from followers, whose patrons they are. (The owl god, whose idol we see in Agnes' store, is one of those dragons.)
