Ok, I understand. Q and E are only usable later in the game, for abilities 3 and 4. The default for ability 1 is mouse button 1. Are you not playing with a mouse? On a laptop, maybe?

Hey there! I played some rounds of this. Stylistically similar to my latest game, so I had to check it out. You also got a spinning star enemy :-) It's fun so far, but it kept crashing for me about the time the spinners appeared.

I noticed the game ran a lot slower than it should. Maybe at 60% speed, from eyeballing how fast the power burst timers were ticking down. This is probably due to me not optimizing it yet. Care to reveal what specs you were playing on?

Launcher is a tough starting choice for sure, but it scales nicely especially once the AoE gets a lot bigger.  It's great against the glitch fragments enemies you see later. Also, it has a crazy synergy with the singularity ability you can unlock later, e.g. see the gif here: https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/3578190/view/528735466048981363?l=englis...

The trees are here to stay, though obviously in a less holiday-themed form. I also plan to add more of those "exploration" mechanics. Different ones for the different worlds too.

Oops, sorry. Seemed to work when I tested it, but maybe because I'm already logged into the server. I replaced the link with one to the server instead of the channel. Does that work?

You have to click on "More Information" and then on the last line there's links to Steam and Discord.

Thanks for the praise! It means a lot. So I guess controller support did not work for you then? It works for me on chrome or edge, but not on firefox. But I couldn't get my controller to work on anything in firefox, so I thought that just does not work.

Seems I actually released a rather severe bug here that prevented the game from starting. It's fixed in 0.36.1!

Hello everyone. Just added a bunch of tutorials to my game Abstractanks, which is an arcade real-time-strategy game with an abstract theme, currently in beta-state. While the tutorials are not completely done, I think they now give a somewhat complete introduction to the game's core mechanics. So I thought now would be a nice time for others to check it out!

I've been working on this game for the past years, mostly on my own with the occasional help of some friends. The game is kind-of hand-made: it does not use any big engine, it's just build on a few basic libraries. I started creating this because I wanted an alternative to starcraft 2 , with shorter matches.  The 40minutes+ matches were getting exhausting, so I created something with some depth (I hope?!) that can be played in about 5 minutes.

Since multiplayer games need players, I realized that I either need a big marketing budget or better single-player component to have it grow organically. So lately I've been focusing my efforts on making it fun for single-player as well!

Besides game jams, this is the first game that I released. Any feedback is welcome!

It feels like Quake 3 Rocket-jumping! Pretty cool!

There's a bug in this version where it does not start up properly after a fresh install, because it tries to write a logfile to a user folder that does not yet exist. Workaround: either try to run the previous version first, or create the folder yourself (It's in the error message).

The bug will be fixed in the next release. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Yea sure. I tried joining on sunday after I returned from Global Game Jam, but it said the link was expired. Now it works again - strange!
